Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 Paris-Shanghai

What happened to all the other posts??
All posts prior to the first collection pictures were removed as they were off-topic (model talk, tech talk, backstage footage, etc). :flower:

i'm disappointed

the LA show looked like Hollywood jet-set, arriving via private jet.
the Russian show looked like a russian bar.
the Venice show was by the sea.

apparently Shanghai is a huge, black oil tank.

WTF?

they could have done something in the Old Quarters of Shanghai. by the Strand. but no. a huge, black oil tanker.

if it wasn't for the skyline, NOTHING would distinguish it as a Shanghai show.

bleh

i'll sulk for a bit

isn't Shangai' port one of the most important in the world ?
and indeed the view seems good ...

the first HQ robot posted aren't found by the server .....

The movie for this collection was absolutely dreadful to watch. The acting was terrible and uninspired. Surely it could have been done better.

With that said, this collection is gorgeous!!!! A lovely colour palette and the cuts are fantastic! Nice setting too!

^it's working now.

thank you ;)

and now i have a question ....
not that i barely paid attention to chanel in years ...
but have the camelia ever been printed this way on the material ? or is it new ? or is it a chinese technics ?
what's the material ?

by the way i'm talking about that classical Coco ensemble with a chinese hat ... worn by a blond girl in post 24 (second line, fourth image - easier, this way, non ? lol)

i totally agree SALVATORE it was awful to watch , i stopped watching it when freja and baptiste started in the first part because it was cringe worthy

i like some looks but ill hold fire on my opinion until i see the set and the full collection

like STREET_A_LIOUS Said all the others were associated with the location if it wasn't for the fact we could see the skyline it could of been held in paris for all we knew (but obviously it isn't) its verrrrrrry dark in the pictures

i think IMO its just another ploy to win over the middle east to buy Chanel Products , what's next ? Paris-Dubai ?

ahah ... i thought the same !!!!

but Dubai right now isn't really the place ....
first they should open a shop in Doha !

I agreee with everyoneeee, **
I find this collection, or what we've seen, very very repetitive. Maybe it is that there was so much fuss about it with the web page and the videos and all that I was expecting something sooo great and then it's not :S

Yes, cringe worthy is great word. I wanted to rip my ears out. ;(

Paris-Dubai would be simply amazing especially if they decided to house it in one of those new "Dynamic Architecture" structures. Amazing.

The accessories in this collection are really doing it for me!

I think this is really because they were doing the show at the wrong time. The entire city of Shanghai is like a huge construction site right now because of the 2010 World-Expo. The bund is probably the worst as it's almost completely dug-up. I guess they were just desperate to hold on to the idea of doing their show on the Bund as the Bund and the Huangpu River are truly the icons representing Shanghai, even though they mostly ended up using the financial zone on the other side of the river as the show background.

I haven't watched the entire film yet as I am at work right now. From a quick glimpse, to be honest, it sounds quite cheesy to me.

Are you from Shanghai or even China? I am a Chinese and lived in Shanghai from many years. I don't know what you mean by "the Strand".

LOL

Dubai's going bankrupt, while Shanghai is still going strong

maybe Lebanon, it's such a party city....

i think if they'd do a middle east inspired one, name wise, Istanbul would be good. Baghdad would sound the most romantic (all those arabic fairytales....) but with the current situation, impossible.

Eypt would be nice too!

as for this collection, i'll wait for the official pics to surface, either style or via Chanel.

i like the Camelia quilting...

I third the Chanel + Egypt idea. I can already picture all the gorgeous jewelry and accessories.

You can't really fault them for the setting- they just spent a Zillion Dollars on a new store there, so what's wrong with dedicating a collection to them??

I'm waiting for a Paris/New Jersey collection...could be a while I bet... B)
