Hmmm... this looks like a patchwork of collections, rather than a single one.
And I hate those shoes with passion.

OOH i really like it!! I agree it's not very cohesive, but I don't care . It's really interesting, sort of sixties mashed with CDG. Love the 1st and last look in #3 and the blue/red color combination.

nooo :( i like the basic colours he does normally. this is pretty bad.

Disappointing... doesn't look like Charles Anastase to me at all...

What is this o_O
Nice colors but not what I expected from him at all...

This looks like something inspired by Camille Bidault, especially the palette.. and totally not what an Anastase fan and customer would want, I mean, an oversized yellow shirt and long/minimalist morticia dresses?, that's Ann-Sofie's territory.
I don't understand why he struggles so much to find a balance.. the sequence of his collections almost feel tense these days.. you can always tell what he was aiming for as he seems to have a defined idea of fashion and dressing yet the result is often incoherent, he swings from ultra frilly to contrived girlishness to forced eccentricity and dull commercialism, delivering a good and thoughtful collection somewhere in the middle (S/S 09).. I really love his work but, ever since his 2007 hiatus, he just seems to have lost so much confidence to project his vision and find a comfort zone where he can be himself while still integrating trends and be commercially appealing, which, judging by his last 3 shows, all seem to be a major concern for him.

I actually like this collection so far, i love the first coat and the 10th look

^ thank you, CB!.

Tim Blank's review for style.com

Finally, fall fashion acknowledges the Copenhagen conference on climate change. Charles Anastase called his new collection "Winter Garden" to mark the discombobulation of a world where exotic summer fruits and flowers are available in the chill dead of winter. His message was slightly diffused by the fact that he chose a woman he called "a crazy gardener" to embody the concept. That immediately made me picture the eccentric chatelaine of a grand English estate. Was I wrong?

There was certainly enough eccentricity to indulge anyone's random reading of the clothes. Proportions were elongated: high-waisted pants flaring to the floor; dresses long, clinging, with a kick pleat; coats huge and blanket-like. This chatelaine probably lived in the Forties, but the Seventies certainly loved her style, particularly those pants. Though Anastase chose cheerful colors like pink and yellow, he also opted for heavy felted wools. In keeping with the climate change warning (one model had a skull painted on her face), there wasn't much levity. What little there was came in the form of a plissé smock over Chinese silk pants (now, that is crazy gardening) or the outfit that featured a drop-waist yellow dress draped with tulle covered in naif appliqués. I'll give Anastase one thing: He creates images that spin around your head for hours.
