Chloé F/W 07.08 : Anja, Shalom & Freja by Inez & Vinoodh

I like the fact that they're similar to last season, but as of now, these ads aren't exactly doing it for me. I agree with whoever said before in this thread that girls like Lily and Gemma should be cast in Chloe ads, it would work so much better.
But Freja might yet be our saving grace, I think she could really work these ads.
Does anyone think that in the ad, Shalom looks just like Kiera Knightley, and Anja like Sienna Miller?
For me, that's NOT a good thing.

Since the changed the designer i would think they would change the advertising but I'm glad the kept it the same.

I love the emphasis on the clothes. the rest is a little.. dull, it just bothers me how they've been styling the girls and trying to channel the whole 'celebrity' look.. you know, super shinny hair, giant sunglasses, party on.. it'd probably interest me for better or for worse if they were actually celebrities, but these are models!, they have capacity for so much more when you style them, you can actually create a concept and not rely the entire campaign on the insignificance of it all.

I literally yawned at this. This is just incredibly bland, and i thought that I&V would move on from this concept which was so fresh when they used it in Self Service AW06. It's just getting tired now. Eagerly awaiting Freja's shots as both Anja &Shalom do nothing for me at all

i think i'll be able to condone the fact that shalom is cast in this campaign once i see freja's shots. i like the repeated theme. this season's campaign was gorgeous. perhaps it'll be difficult to top.

Oh my god these ads are terrible. Shalom just RUINS them!

She looks like a middle-aged soccer mom dressed in a piece completely unappropriate for her age and general appearance!

they're ok. even though the ads are a tired old concept from chloe i still can tolerate them

Chloé has done these kinds of ads for a few seasons now, but I think they're okay. I'm interested in seeing more.

there is parts of this ad i do like such as the solid orange against the black and white pattern of the other dress but she still has an orange'ish' shade of lipstick on and the simple white background is sort of nice as well, but i cant say i really like how the models are standing and it isnt as exciting because it does look like ads done in the past. but i am still excited to see the rest of the ads and they always do look different in a magazine so i'll be keeping my eyes out for them because there there is something different about looking through a magazine and seeing an ad i find my reaction is always a little different then when i see it in online

I like it! It clearly shows the collection without making it too dramatic and themed, if you know what I mean (think the Balenciaga SS 07 ads with Coco and almost every Dolce and Gabbana campaigns). But then again, Chloe has always been a brand that seemed more wearable.

I love the aesthetic and the styling but shalom does seem out of place... I keep getting flashes of amy poehler in mean girls, "I'm a cool mom!"

I think the continuity is a nice way to transition the new Chloe clothes for the customer. It's kinda saying, "hey, we're still the same Chloe girls!" whilst still moving onto a new idea, fashionwise...
