Chris Brown arrested and sentenced for domestic violence

my respect for Rihanna has decreased exponentially.

Now everyone on the blogsphere is going to defend him again.

Great image for domestic abuse.

Very, very sad. This happens all too often. And I've seen how it can end. I've been to a funeral of a woman who was murdered by her soon-to-be-ex-husband, the first murder in her town since Bonnie and Clyde. You do not want to be remembered with donations to a group for battered women (though those donations are very much needed).

I really hoped she would set a great example of how to handle a situation like this.

And ... "reflective and saddened" seems very unlikely to cut it, IMO. Somehow saddened seems very much the wrong word for thinking about one's own despicable behavior.

Rihanna and all of us deserve far better than Chris Brown. We know that, and Rihanna needs to find out. We all need to pray and think good thoughts for Rihanna to get some sense.

WTF..........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad, sad, sad. Another aggression waiting to happen. :ninja:

I will believe it once I see pics of them together again.... even if she is THAT stupid, I don't think her parents are... she needs to stay away from him.

Chris Brown does not to be any woman that he 'loves'... his time should be spent on getting the proper help..

If this turns out to be true, I can't say that I'm all that surprised. Rihanna clearly is not in the right frame of mind. However usually women who stay in abusive relationships do so because they have some type of ties with their partner- ie kids, financially dependable on mate et cetera. Rihanna has no ties to Chris and will look the fool who's d*ckmatized if them getting back together is a fact.

She's young (21), rich, attractive and she has become a big sensation with her latest album- there is no excuse for her taking him back. As Oprah said, she can wish him well and all that jazz but taken him back? Hell No! (not exact words but you get my drift) She can kiss her career goodbye as well.

This will be a huge blemish on her as not just an "artist" but as a person. Her taking a stance against domestic violence and keeping her distance from Chris would have gained her much respect and now if this is indeed true she will be viewed as an embarrassment and a horrible role model to the many who look up to her because her getting back with him is c/s his actions. Oh Rihanna
. :(

Except people and his and her PR group won't spin it as her siding with domestic abuse.

She'll probably release a statement saying that each couple goes through their rough times, and they're dedicated to making the relationship work, blah blah blah.

As far as "no ties to Chris" ... there are emotional ones, obviously. But sometimes it is just not possible to be with the people we love. In this particular case, she would have to risk her life in order to do so IMO.

I think it is possible to rehabilitate someone with these behavioral issues, but it takes time and a whole lot of work on his part, and PR people aren't actually part of the process.

The statement People quoted is clearly from Chris' people in my mind, based on the "saddened," which seems to be their favorite word.

Perhaps they are "together," as in physically in the same location. Perhaps what she has agreed to so far is a meeting, discussion, etc. Still far too close for my comfort ...

And I have to think her friends in the industry will absolutely be up in arms & that she will be on the receiving end of some unsolicited advice.

I reckon Chris' people believe it's a very good thing for him if they are back together.

If this is true, it's so sad :( It isn't always as easy for someone to leave as others may think it is, but I hope she doesnt get into that sick relationship again.

i knew it
that s why she didn t press charges it s like paris hilton and nick carter, she hit him he hit her back she had bruises and never pressed charges.
both of them are in the wrong even though chris should have just walked away. it just confirmed my theory.
oh well, most abuse victims stay with their abusers anyway

It's Bobby and Whitney Part 2: Revenge of the Crack.

first of all this explains the lackness of any PR that would normally occur in these kind of situations from chris' camp. they've knew it all the way, obviously.
rihanna did the one thing she wasn't allowed (in personal and professional sense) from a sea of things she could've done. this act is just plain stupid and disrespectful towards her and all the fans/people that stood by her.

i knew it was coming.. no press release was a normal option for rihanna camp if she wanted to peace it out and come back to him.

i think they have to sort this things out. i know you all are TEAM RIHANNA and talking women's abuse rights and so on.. but nobody really knows what happened that night between these two.. chris brown's behavior is surprising.. rihanna's behavior is surprsing.. it clearly states that there is something we are not aware of.

they should talk to each other and remain quiet for some time.

I am not surprised they are back together. But it took less than three weeks. Damn, the love that she has is deep. Cause I guarantee you her people have probably told her not to get back together.

I'm sorry, but if he did that to my face.I would take longer than three weeks for me to forgiven him. She needs to be on lock down. :innocent:

I doubt this is about Rihanna's team or Chris's team, anyone who argues that is just clueless. We don't need to know what happened, to see her beat-up face, besides the fact that Rihanna's camp only made a simple professional statement tells me her team wanted to have all legal case to proceed without entanglement.

If the rumor of her getting back to him is true, then its the classic battered women syndrome. One where her own reputation is damaged as a weak victime incapable of walking away from a man who left her on the side of the street unconscous.

Unless its PR stunt by Brown's side, what with their constant releaases from his pathetic apology of finding god to anger management class before his court appearance in March 4th.

Why is anyone believing what justjared says? They've lied multiple times about crap like this, no one trust their opinion or 'sources'...

And she did press charges (to the person above who said she didnt).. she was there filling out the paper work at the police station.

edit: Didnt see People posted it as well.. damn, I hope it isnt true. :(

I hope its worth it for her because she just screwed her own career, the backlash she will face could be worse than what Chris will have to have to face. If they go public, she will most likely be dropped by CoverGirl for supporting domestic abuse and fans will turn. If all they want is each other then they got their wish because they really are f*cking up any chance they had at fanbases.

Part of me thinks his PR damage control people are leaking these reconciliation stories for his case. But People Magazine is way too reliable...

i don t understand why everyone s saying it s apr stunt from chris ' team. i don t think it is at all. it was obvious they were gonna get back together, if she didn t want him back she would ve spoken about it.
it said she didn t want to press charges and she was forced to do it. that just proves that she never intended to break it off. she was just getting over the fight and was gonna forgive him anyway. i think she had a part in the fight that s why they got back together. if it was all him i doubt she would ve been back so fast.

I don't think it was obvious by any means that she would go back to him. She isn't some faceless woman, she has many people to answer to with her global career...and for a girl so concerned with branding herself, this will be seen as a colossal mistake come Monday.

Even Oprah said she would be stupid to go back, and when a woman loses the support of Oprah, that's bad...jokes aside.
