What really worries me is the comments I've read on gossip blogs from the general public. So many people claim that they will continue to buy his music because "although they don't support his actions, they still support him as an artist." First off, I wouldn't consider him an artist, but that's off topic. My real concern is how so many people can't recognize that "the abuser" and "the artist" are the same person, and he should face dire consequences. His career should be shot to sh*ts after this, R. Kelly's should have too.

But furthermore, this just proves how naive and easily manipulated the general public can be. With Rihannah going back to him she's telling woman that's it's acceptable to tolerate such abuse, and for men that it's acceptable to perpetrate such abuse. I understand that victims of domestic abuse cannot always easily separate themselves from their abusers, and it's become obvious that her friends and family aren't doing much to help her but where's her PR? Surely they have a huge influence on her life and they have to know that eventually people will call her out which will result in a decline in profits relating to her name. But if the rumors are true, and their PR teams are working together to help his case, that is truly disgusting.

Just to tell you all the outrageous rumor about the book deal is false  I was so shocked by that too! But no way!

rihannadaily.com

ingers Chris Brown and Rihanna’s publicist and lawyer have scotched reports claiming that the duo is planning a book deal in order to the mottled image of the former.
Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker recently claimed that Brown’s management team was working on a deal with Rihanna’s handlers, which would include a joint book project, a series of TV interviews together and a whopping 10 million-dollar hand-out to the ‘Umbrella’ singer in case Brown ever hurts her in future.
Zwecker also stated that Brown would pay “as much as 10 million dollars… if he as much as squeezes her arm the wrong way.”
However, Brown’s publicist Michael Sitrick says that the book deal report as well as the claims of 10 million dollar handout are false.
Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra also insists that he knows nothing about the claims the columnist has made.
However, Zwecker is still adamant that his report is not untrue.
“(The deal) is obviously a kind of commitment from him to her (Rihanna) that he was serious about the fact that this will never happen again,” Contactmusic quoted Zwecker as saying.
Meanwhile, Brown, who allegedly attacked Rihanna and left her with horrific injuries, has been released on a 50,000-dollar bail until a hearing on April 6.

What allegedly? i would say it's beyond a shadow of a doubt now

Unless they're referring to it in legal terms, but still. the PR softening of this case is rather off putting.

Chris Brown is all kinds of F-U-G-L-Y. That guys is just so repulsive on the inside and outside

"This is pretty incredible!
Despite the smell of **** all around him, Chris Brown's "career" is not over yet and is seemingly unaffected by the whole Rihanna despicableness.
According to Soundscan, sales of Brown's most recent album, Exclusive, have remained steady in the weeks both before and after the alleged woman beating.
The album has been moving a steady 3,000 copies a week in the U.S. since late January.
WTF??????
Do people really wanna support abuse????
Just download that shiz illegally if you must have it!"

doesnt look like his career is dead..

Oprah Winfrey announced Friday that she will dedicate one of her shows this week to discussing domestic violence. “I want to do a show about it, dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world,” she said. Speaking directly into the camera, Oprah said, “If a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again.”

donald trump said rihanna was a loser if she got back together with chris brown...for once the donald is right

Yes Means Yes basically summed up my feelings on Riri getting back with the jerk.

It doesn’t mean she is stupid.
It doesn’t mean we should forgive him.

It doesn’t mean what he’s alleged to have done is any less horrible.
It doesn’t mean she has betrayed any kind of sisterhood.
It doesn’t mean that if he hurts her again, she deserves it.

Grrrrr... From rihannadaily.com:

Rihanna and Chris ditch the paps and find a new secret hideaway
As soon as we (X17) found out about Rihanna and Chris Brown’s secret rendezvous spot in Hollywood, it seems like the couple began to look for a new place to rekindle their romance, without the presence of dozens of photographers. Hey, we don’t blame them on wanting to ditch the paps, but after their controversial reunion, they must have known that photogs and reporters would be monitoring their every move!
On Friday afternoon, the couple sent a decoy SUV around town in an attempt to fool the paps, and at some point during that time, the couple escaped from their hideaway and settled into a new one.
Click here to watch the video.

this is ridiculous.. "fool the paps".. like we are so unaware of rekindling their sick relationship. i mean.. what rihanna is thinking? i would love to get a grip of that.

"Who in their right minds thought this was a smart idea????
It's being reported that Chris Beat Her Down and Rihanna are in the midst of recording a duet for Brown's new album!!!
This shiz needs to stop!!
Now!
Although there has been no confirmation from either camps, the word is Pussycat Dolls and Ludacris record producer Polow Da Don has been working diligently on the track with RiRi and Brown in a Santa Monica studio for the past few days.
Recording a cover of He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss), perhaps??? "

I think both parties need anger management..both have hitting problems..
(TMZ.com)
TMZ knows who triggered the fight that left Rihanna battered and bruised and Chris Brown an accused felon -- it's Brown's manager.

Sources tell us the woman who left the three-page text message on Brown's cell phone is Tina Davis. Davis -- who turns 40 this month -- was rumored to have had a relationship with Brown when he was 16. Brown and Davis have denied it.

Law enforcement tells us the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later -- and it totally pissed off Rihanna. She slapped and hit him and he then brutally fired back.

The detective's affidavit refers to the text message as being "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

Davis could not be reached for comment.

Some people have using the gender equality argument to justify Chris Brown's actions, saying that if women want to be treated equally and have equal rights, then that equality should also apply to fights and acts of violence.

In short, if it's acceptable for a woman to hit a man, then it is also acceptable for a man to hit a woman. (Didn't explain this too clearly, but you get my drift)

What are tfs-ers' take on this line of argument?

Do any of us have little brothers? Naturally, you'd beat him up occasionally when mom wasn't looking. Remember that fateful day when the little sucker grew up, got some muscles, and it was a humiliating blow when he put you in a headlock?

Let's say Rihanna WAS hitting Chris. I don't see any physical evidence, for one. But let's say she was. That's horrible, and it happens. It makes the entire situation THAT much worse and they need to separate.

It makes it horrible for domestic violence victims as well, because it cheapens the argument for defending women. It's a FACT that men hit women more than women hit men. It's a FACT that men KILL women more than women kill men. Hell, men kill each other more than women kill anyone. We can't ignore data.

while we re here debating who hit who , she s out partying.
they re both stupid and they should stay together and make more music

perezhilton has a video of her

Princess RiRi was spotted out clubbing in Hollywood on Tuesday night. Thankfully, there was no Chris Beat Her Down accompanying her.
Sadly, it seems like Rihanna doesn't love herself as much as we love her because she is still with that douche, and even recording a duet with him.
Oh, RiRi's friends were not pleased at all that the paparazzi was videotaping her coming out of da club.
Check it out above!

<H1 class=head _extended="true" itxtvisited="1">Dr. Keith: An Open Letter to Chris Brown
Wednesday, March 11, 2009
foxnews_story.gif

By Dr. Keith Ablow

Dear Mr. Brown:
We have never met. I don’t presume to know your life story. However, if the allegations against you are true, and you did brutalize your girlfriend, I do know something very important about you.
First, you should know a little about me. I am a forensic psychiatrist who has treated violent men and women, and testified as an expert in state and federal courts in cases involving r*pe, assault and murder. On more than one occasion, I have testified about the underlying psychological dynamics that resulted in men killing women. I also wrote the New York Times bestseller "Inside the Mind of Scott Peterson." You would have been just 16 when Peterson was sentenced to death for the murder of his wife Laci and unborn son Conner. I tell you all this to increase the chances you might actually take what I have to say to heart before you ruin your life and destroy someone else’s.
Here’s what I know about you, if you are guilty of the charges against you: You are different from the vast majority of men. You have been emotionally and physically violent toward a woman, and I believe you’ve done it before. Men who find themselves in court for assaulting females rarely have the good fortune to be caught — and, hopefully, get help — the first time.

Psychologically speaking, what you are up against is like psychological cancer — a malignancy that is life-threatening and hard to treat. Just when you think you’ve overcome it, it can overtake you. It is deep in the marrow of your mind or brain, or both. I don’t like your odds against it —even a little bit.
Defeating it will take an act of will greater than any you have summoned before.
For one reason or another, you lack the empathy or impulse control that would have allowed you to restrain yourself from lashing out when anger surged inside you. This is no small matter. Empathy is a miraculous human quality that allows one human being to imagine the suffering of another and seek to minimize it whenever possible (not inflict it).
Impulse control is closely linked to having empathy, but can also depend on parts of the brain —especially the frontal lobes — functioning appropriately.
Impulse control also depends on being sober. Alcohol or an illicit drug is often the culprit when violence erupts.
If you lack empathy, your character is badly damaged, and it is essential that you figure out how that occurred. You need to examine which events in your life were so painful that you stopped feeling your own sadness and hurt and tried to keep everything buried inside you.
That doesn’t work. The things you bury never go away, they get more intense, then spill out of you in ways you can’t predict or control. Only a skilled therapist can help you look at yourself in the way you need to now, to unearth the emotions you’ll need to in order to have any hope of remaking yourself into the kind of man you deserve to be—a man of character who can form loving relationships, not abusive ones. And only a psychiatrist can prescribe whatever medicine might be needed in the short or longer-term to help you keep your demons from getting the upper hand again while you wrestle with them.
Character pathology often goes hand-in-hand with alcohol and drug problems. That’s because alcohol and drugs are another way people try not to feel the turmoil inside them. But, trust me, it’s a sucker’s game. Ultimately, booze or coke or heroin only fuel the ugly things inside a person. If you’re using and think you can stop on your own, think again.
You’re in a war, and you’re losing. Check yourself into a rehab, if you have to. Get to AA or NA, if you have to. Do more than you think you need to. You’ll underestimate your enemy. Every alcohol or drug abuser does.
Go see a neurologist, for good measure. Tell him or her that you need to know if there’s any damage to your brain — maybe from prior head trauma — that could leave you without normal neurological defenses against your underlying anger.
Click here to read Dr. Keith's recommendations for Brown in the rest of his letter, and share your thoughts on the FOX News Health Blog.
