she looks like a drag queen..:innocent:

wow...fantastic!!! i hope it's a continuation o his haute couture designs <or at least partially>. i'd like it if it was developed properly and this seems like a good way to do so . and john doesn't look as outrAGEOUS as before.

one of the more minimal pieces but i love it........
as for the rest of the collection it's drop dead gorgeous.

KARMA FOR KEVIN!!! thanks for all those pics!!

i'm feeling an odd atraction by those alligatos eyebrows!!! rofl!!

(i'm ashamed to say this but it reminds me of armani... dont try to reply to it because it dont know why... i just know it looks alike! :'(

Seveal seasons ago, when McQueen did his "hitchcok" collection, I felt he did a good job of making 50s 60's "lady" clothes look modern. I think this collection does not look modern, but simply cartoonish.

:flower:

You know, at first, I was pretty iffy, but seeing the collection in order, and seeing the great detail shots, I have to say it like it much better. I'm really digging the whole Veronica Lake does Japan feel, but I also like that he's toned down the Japan element and amped up the Veronica. Sure, it's not particularly modern or wearable for that matter, but, really, everybody says that everytime Galliano does a collection...so let's just get over that.

On the otherhand, I have to agree with others in that I feel that the BRIGHT colored outfits were the least successful. I thought that the stint in the middle of the collection of the bubble gum pink and the acid greens was the weakest point...and a few of the last dresses looked a little cheap.

I like it, though. I really want to see the video (and again...I'm hoping that Jeremy Healy will wow me, but since the last few year's collection's soundtracks have been pretty lame...I'm not getting my hopes to high...I just want him to blow me away again, like he did with all of Galliano's show's for 2004!)

So far, I'm happy with the way that this season is turning out to be! Such a major improvement from one of the lamest RTW seasons in recent history (SS 07)!

Really beautiful! At first glance, the colours and furs were a bit outlandish, but the pieces are actually very elegant and dare i say, wearable.

Thanks for the detail shots! The hair, makeup, and hats are so well done! Lily looks gorgeous!

This is a genius marketing strategy--a cheaper (albeit much too expensive for me still), simpler version of his previous couture collection. I'm sure plenty of people desire to own couture pieces, but simply can't afford it--this is one solution.

As for the pieces themselves, I'm very pleased. Galliano did an amazing job ensuring the clothes are both glamorous and easy to wear. (The clothes, not the shoes!) Speaking of shoes, the R/W versions are much less daunting than those seen in the couture show.

It looks very derivative of the past couture show and many of his older collections but I don't think it's bad. I love the colors, the makeup, the shoes, and the headdresses. I do like some casual interpretation of the couture shapes too...the bags however, are hedious.

I wish people would stop saying this is unwearable and gross. You know by the time this hits the sells floor half of this stuff won't even be sold or the clothes will be so waterdown they won't even be recogized. And I'm sure some of you are glad like I am to some kind of color. And be able to catch a break from seeing muddy colored baggy stuff.

this is so galliano, everything about it. i'm really interested to see how it will translate into stores.

This is really not happening for me, it's just half-baked Couture. I do think the bags are lovely and the shoes are great. Not loving it, almost there, each piece is just slightly off. Except that beige coat w/ the columns of fur, that was amazing.

wow, you can so see some of the inspirations/"left-overs" if you will from SS 07 Haute Couture

The furs are disgustings, the sewing on the satins looks amateurish at best (plenty of puckering in the unlit shots from getty), and overall, it's not my favorite.

That being said, I'm so glad to see something interesting on the runways! I'm so sick of the hideous/boring collections that seem to dominate.

And the BAGS! Wow, seriously gorgeous. I want one sooooo bad :buzz:
