Christian Dior Resort 2006

Worn on a more 'ordinary' person I think these would look rather staid. But well at least it's not monogram mania...

nice pics brain...thanks , i love the floral background :woot:, where are these pics from? are there closer looks images for the bags?

Sounds like I am pretty alone on this, but I quite like it all actually. Kind of fresh for what we usually see for Dior resort, as brian already pointed out. It might be granny style, but I think it's all really classy and elegant rather than granny in a negative way. Thanks for bringing this in brian!

I really like it. It might not be a big creative stretch but like dale said the collection looks very beautiful and elegant. I really love the first picture in the first post. The one i like the least would have to be post #25 picture 2 (on the top right). It remind me of native american indians.

i like it. i love the full skirts (embroidered and python embossed) some of the little chiffon shirts are quite nice too. some of the wedge sandals have also caught my eye.:innocent:

None of these clothes look anyhow precious to me, that´s the problem what I see, it´s so contemporary in a way, I don´t see what´s classy about Dior Femme RTW... I don´t have a problem with contemporary, trendy designers as such, but if you keep in mind that Dior is up in the same height of price as Balenciaga, Rochas, Lanvin or Chanel, I don´t see what´s worth the investment, these are very trendy clothes.

I think it´s very evident that John has failed to build up an iconic look for Dior (unlike the designers that I just named before), it´s probably the shock value of his earlier shows, especially the Haute Couture that people will remember, but apart from that, there´s hardly any consistancy in the collection. The design team must be too busy finding new themes to put a Dior marketing stamp on, after Dior Gaucho, Dior Detective, D´Trick, Dior Logo Denim et all... with the most iconic piece being the "J´adore Dior" Tee... :innocent:

It's too trendy and much too predictable imo. There are a couple of rather nice pieces, but on the whole I don't particularly like this collection.....

I like the jacket and dress in the first picture, and the dresses are quite nice. I don't like the logo jean capris though.. or the pinstripe-cargo-pants things..

.....it's only resort.....

yeah!, is so obvious he doesn´t design this collection, of course he supervices it, but i´m 100% sure this didn´t came out of him, this is what they do for the more conventional type of people to go and buy to dior too, but i don´t really see john´s heart in it at all, this must be that type of collections that must be priorily accepted by the management team from dior and all, i don´t know if im explaining myself very clearly but when desing houses create collections specially for them to be buught and not for runways or other more conceptual purposes they have to be reviewed by all the departments before they are produced, all the managers, boutiqe managers, everyone and if they say no or ask for a change, designers have to do it in order to assure its acceptation by the public.
