Christian Dior S/S 2024 Paris

I don't get the beauty (I haven't seen the show tbh, only saw the photos), the dark lips make the models look sick. Clothes look good, though. Her Dior has grown a lot on me.

I think this is her strongest collection.
It felt very grown confident woman instead of the usual «teenage fairytail dream ». It needed more editing but it’s good.

‘I can finally imagine Charlize Theron in her clothes.

‘Next season she will be more courageous and cast more seasoned models.

This pieces with the fringes had some potential but Alber left a really high bar in that tiny department (2003, never forget), which everything else looks shein.

Said it before and will say it again, I'm in awe of anyone that can watch these videos from start to finish.. it's pure torture for me, the typing sound drove me nuts and what is it anyway? 1950s reference related to 1950s ads related to 1950s oppression? why are we getting second-wave feminism again? incapable (just like everyone else) of touching intersectionality with even a toothpick? :smirking:.. that's how you know it's all a little half-baked. NEXT!

I think the artisans that work for Dior and the couturiers give their best but Maria Grazia has a touch of bad taste and her filter make it looks cheap. But dont mess with her, it sells billions and she wont have the Michelle Alexander destinity. And the catwalk message I think it is just a pose to distract and color the sadness of the clothes.

feminist slogans and apron-like dresses on the runway. right.

I stopped watching cos I got bored af. it’s not as safe as always but it’s still lifeless to me.
I might be biased because I just don’t think she’s that good of a designer.

I think the problem with her collections is that they're all so ONE-NOTE. There's no progression or buildup towards a climactic technique or silhouette. Individually, the pieces are beautiful, but as a collection it's literally the same look in slightly different variations repeated 1000 times.

She's the type of woman who thinks that GREIGE is the most beautiful color.

She's very un-stan-able.

I watched this on 2x speed, muted - as I usually

Its seens smaller than her normal presentations. With a lot of repeated ideas. That off the shoulder shirt is great. I guess I will take the belted pleated pant it was paired with as the Dior silhouette.

Surprisingly heavy sheers and lace from her. That tan dress with the ruffles and the lace caftan moved like they were starched. The half cardigan felt lifeless in motion.

I didn't like this as much as her previous collections. The one-shoulder shirt just looks awkward and uncomfortable to me. I can't get behind the moth-eaten wool/mohair (?) coat, not at Dior. And the Victorian lace dresses really didn't have to be tea-stained.

This one won't sell well imho, I just don't see the current Dior customers going full black & white, they would much prefer a Barbie-girly-floral palette, for this kind of money.

Part of me has a feeling that those phrases were aimed more towards their Arab/Asian clientele (the core clientele for Dior's ready-to-wear and Couture lines) who are still fighting for the base rights lots of women in the Western world are able to take for granted.

Errr… no, I am from East Asia (one of the regions responsible for a substantial portion of the luxury market now) and I don’t think any of the phrases will appeal to the females over here

As for the collection… I am not sure if it’s because of the candy colored stripes on the floor or the whole environment or whatsoever… if I have to use one word to describe what that were sent down the runway I would say “frumpy”. It’s everything everywhere all at once, you have coats and the next moment a model comes with something lingerie… the one-shoulder looks didn’t impress me

Just saw that Emily Mariko was a guest .. I can’t believe I never made the connection. Dior IS Emily Mariko and any of her recipes. Not criminal, you’d eat it if you’re starving.. but you also make poor choices when you’re starving.

If that's what Dior is, then I'd rather do the fashion equivalent of swallowing Terry Richardson's c*m.
