Christopher Kane S/S 07 London

We must be hanging out in different places because I'm really not seeing this nu-rave look around London except in magazines saying that this is going to be a trend. His details make me think of my childhood (neon belts and shoelaces).

I only like the pink dress. I love the zipper fetish, though, just not the overall look of the dresses, cept the pink one.

I never thought plastic sports buckles could ever look good but his come close. This stuff is pretty damn cool. Thanks for the pics Susie & Bianca.

Brilliant:heart: I was a bit worried when I saw Seans picture, but they seem to e the worst outfits in the show!

Definately one of my favourites

looks interesting!! i probably wouldn't wear it, but still interesting....

I love how he's contrasted the nu-rave aspects (neons, club clothing features like zipz, velcro, plastic tubing and metal buckles) with very elegant shapes and almost rococco-esque features
great description Susie .. it's interesting to say the least! Great show pieces.. but there is just too much going on there.. it's simply too much for me.. Neon's ? Thank you, but no thank you. I was never good in neon's and I never will.. and besides the plastic buckles makes me think of Storm's safety belts (Meg ;) )

The seatbelts are optional, I presume...?

It's interesting stuff. The details veer into tacky territory at times (ruffles...) and overall it scores low on wearability, but he's definitely made a very strong fashion statement. Good show.

I've definitely seen kids (by kids, I mean like 14-16 yrs old) wearing neon leggings and purposefully 80's style hitops with neon leggings out and about in Camden and of course in Hoxton (where else....).

I like it.......
love how he continous his MA show
the colour fabrics....look interesting...
a good show

some interesting details...rings and things..
but generally just scarey...

:ninja:

kind of disgusting really....:(

LONDON, September 20, 2006 – Even before his first vivid-orange, elastic-bandage micro dress hit the runway today, 25-year-old Scot Christopher Kane was an international sensation in the making. In the six months since delivering his award-winning graduate Central Saint Martin's show in March, he has not only snagged a consultancy with Donatella Versace, but also found time between trips to Milan to whip up a further 50 fluorescent, frilled, crystal-trimmed, ring-jingling, zip-spliced dresses for his official debut.

What is this look? Certainly the most intense and best-articulated example of the Versace/Alaïa nineties mania coming out of the London club scene. Driven by lust for eye-socking color and allover decoration, it zings with an amazing new energy and optimism. Or as one wag in the audience put it, "Oh! Hervé Léger meets disco poodle!"

Virtually every dress featured the same body-clinging shape and the same length. But Kane had the conviction of thought to run through extraordinary color combinations—red with pink, lime with beige, royal blue with black, flesh-on-flesh, violet with green—not to mention dozens of pattern variations, encompassing stretch lace, chain mail, crystal mesh, brass rings and boudoir ruffles. All this had been accomplished in Kane's rented living room in the East End with his sister, model, and business manager, Tammy—and a little help from Donatella. Before the show, a consignment of shoes arrived from Versace with a massive bouquet wishing him every success. Looks like he's going to get it.

There seems to be a proliferation of this bandaged Herve Leger revival. Proenza, Preen & now Kane... not that I mind.

I'm not really feeling this. It's a clever collection but the garish colors and less than ladylike hemlines are not appealing. I prefer his graduate collection over this. Any notable ideas he is putting on the table seem to have already been explored by Nicholas Ghesquire a few years ago. I suppose my expecations where high but nonetheless they certainly were not met.

Well for me, a person who hates london fashion week, it was very surprising, I would love if anyone post a link to see his graduation collection PLEASE!

I think it's very hard to wear of course, but for me it was very new for London I think, i can really see it as a trend...I love a bit of a change...I'm tired of the depressive dark and ugly look of London. Even though this was a bit too much neon, at least it was interesting,
as someone said, I loved how he did some romantics references with strings and velcro

I would love to know what music they played!

Like VICTIM said, it's very much the way London fashion is moving with the nu-rave scene.....
Agreed Susie. It's quite interesting; ruffles, lace and neon seatbelts?^_^

Love these two looks despite the evil shell boob-patches.

The colours and the style are both amazing...everything looks really professional except that chandelier dress.
