VEDIS/ ELEANOR! You're a credit to your nation...

Sorry if the stridency of my earlier posts got you worked up at all... I'll freely admit that I sometimes run away with myself. It's clear that by the tone and content of your posts that you're smart and know how to play your hand, something I didn't know at 19. It's just a shame that there are models with minds as keen as your own who (not so much in the Roversi shoot, but in so many others) are reduced to unsmiling automatons or freakish erotic playthings in their images. I'm not a puritan, but artistic exploration and plain disrespect don't have to go hand in hand. When an image is vibrant and beautiful, the photographer gets the credit. When the image is ugly and degrading, the model gets the shame. You don't have to work in the industry to see that. Good luck with your studies, play the game for all it's worth, then get out with your obviously intelligent mind still intact. You sure ain't no kindergartener...

God forbid we should have some intelligent discussion around here. Why don't you just skip the comments and look at the pretty pictures if it bothers you so much? Nothing personal -- it just seems like whenever a thread starts getting interesting somebody cries, "Back on topic!" or, "More pictures, less talk."

I wasn't saying that there should be no discussion. I was agreeing with Perlefine's point about the shoot being purely a showcase of new faces which isn't necessarily trying to make a statement about the blank vacant dispositions of models today.

I'm enjoying all the discussion and glad that I started the thread. Because when I started it, I really did just admire the aesthetics of the pictures rather than analyse it for it's morality value. But I'm glad people have brought it up....it just so happens that I don't agree with the things being said. That's all :) Sorry if I have offended you. I'm all for debate/discussion...it's what makes this forum stand out amongst other fashion forums where debate ends at 'What makes you think pink is a better colour than red?' :D

this is one of the best editorials i've seen come out of Vogue..ever!:flower:

I like the most of the girls: Hanne Gaby, felicity,Julia D,Heather,(anna K)

I don't know about tanya she's 14 and she acts like a Diva

but I think he really choose the good strong new girls

:( hopefully its just a phase because of her really young age...it'd be sad if fame ruins her

Well this editorial was more of a predictor to put new faces on the radar.

Julia Dunstall, Tanya D, and Hanne Gaby Odiele are still working quite a bit and in my opinion Hanne is just starting to rise.

Drielle Valeretto and Leah de Wavrin never really boomed completely but they're both working decently.

Felicity Gilbert unfortunately never lived though her hype, and Madeleine Berrevoets never boomed. Eddie Klint is still quite big in male modelling and unfortunately Heather Bratton died in a car accident.

Shaun Haugh has slipped out of the male model radar, whether it was his choosing or not I don't know. Michaela Hvlackova was a one season wonder.

^ Don't forget Agnes Buzala! She's still busy in this business, but not in Paris unfortunately
