Cloak F/W 06.07 NYC

dman i cant get over this collection atm.. but to tell the truth i liked spring 06 better...especially the shoes and boots from ss06. defenitely not putting this down or anything..i love it but i loved sso6 more same deal with a/w 05.

It's good but I'm disappointed to be honest. His S/S collection was alot better and strong. It's abit on the bland side as someone mentioned before and some of it just seems too gentlemen like in a way. Having said that though, I don't think anyone comes close to him in terms of menswear in NY ^_^

One piece I like from this collection is that very very dangerous looking red leather jacket!

I went to the show (by accident). The term that I would use to describe the collection is solid... which is already good enough. I think they highlights were the coats - they were very sharp tailored and had great details. The overall tailoring was sharp, as a matter of fact. I liked the fabrics as well, they were very masculine - and lord knows we need that.

On the side note - the venue was cool and simple, and the crowd was perfect. I really enjoyed it.

I love this collection so much. Plokhov's like a good wine, it gets better year after year. This collection is so elegant & well thought, but still it carries his signature look of grey/dark colouring & simple yet efficient cuts. He's seemingly walking towards more mainstream and refined mature look with his collection this year.
Some might say that this is ''play-safe'' collection, on which I agree that this is not that unchained raw power anymore what it was couple years ago, but a evolved strong brand with clear vision of its future. This sophisticated version of Cloak if anything is serving as an example of Alexandre Plokhovs talent & skill to make amazing clothes for contemporary man. Sophisticated & forward thinking collection that bows to its past & embrace the future.
Thank you Mr. Plokhov , I'll visit the shop spring time when I'm in NY on a work trip.

It's a solid collection. Real clothes I mean:-P
I think it's good that Cloak moved away from the costumery look. (one step ahaed of the pack:-P)

But sth is missing. I don't know. Can you look at theses clothes and tell it's Cloak?

Not quite as moody and dramatic as before. A little bit easier in the way of Branquinho. I love the way he used the oversized houndstooth, which is probably a quirkier attribute. But please can we please give the mundane hoodies a rest?! Really sick of them now.

this may be old news...but...

"Stay tuned for a new footwear and bag line by Cloak designer Alexandre Plokhov. In store next week."

a very "safe" collection for CLOAK, beautiful basics compared to the hard edge of past collections...Ill take the harder edge stuff anyday!! Im sure the fabrics are gorgeous!

faust--how did you "accidentally" end up there;)

I love this!!!

I'm glad to see him drift a little away from the literal military influence, but still stay true to his tailoring. I love the houndstooth(I'm a sucker for it) I think the coats are brilliant as always. The one sweater with the cable down the front looks promising.....and (surprise, surprise) I think I love the grey pleated trouser (I need to see the full length view).

you as well, chris? I love it best when houndstooth is large as it is here

I went to A, and the owner told me he's going to the show. It was right across the street. So I went with him.
I also earmarked some stuff at INA Men's. :innocent:

Airboy, I'm sure we'll meet some day, not to worry.

I really, really like the leather jacket in the first post, the rest is just blah to me...
