Concealer

i only use concealer sometimes under eyes when i haven't had a good nights' sleep, & when i do.. i apply it after foundation/powder.

I work with a company that makes cosmetics and our artists use concealer before foundation.

If you put the foundation on afterwards, the concealer gets blended in a bit better so it is less obvious looking. Just don't blend it in completely before putting foundation on. However, if you don't like having a lot of stuff on your face it's best to see how well the foundation covers first before using concealer.

most makeup artists say to use under eye concealer before foundation and concealer for blemishes after foundation

I like to use concealer after foundation, because the foundation evens out the skin tone and the lessens the reddness of the blemish, then cover with concealer and then set with powder.

It´s like this (how i learned in my make up course, and works fab):

You put on the foundation all over your face except around the eyes.

Then you mix a bit of concealer with a bit of the leftover foundation that is in your hand (so that you can achieve a more accurate colour) and dab it over all the eye area.

If you have blemishes, you can use the mix you used (to put around the eyes) with a small concealer brush, if the blemishes are too noticeable use the cincealer by itself.

hth ;)

I totally agree with this. That's how I was taught, as well.

However, you can't use this method if you use a powder foundation, for obvious reasons.

I prefer to put the concealer after I put my foundation on. If necessary I'll softly retouch with foundation, but I don'y usually need that.

I've never used a concealer that I can say I truly truly loved.
Can anybody please recommend an undereye concealer that:
-provides medium to full coverage
-is non drying
-does not cake or crease
-does not make circles look grayish
-is easy to use

thanks :flower:

I absolutely love the Creamy Concealer from Bobbi Brown. Fits your description.

thanks!
what's the name of that concealer? :flower:

It is called Creamy Concealer-you can buy it by itself or in the Creamy Concealer Kit that comes with a matching loose powder and puff. The color I wear is the light bisque corrector. I apply it with my ring finger and set with powder. It covers really well, doesn't look cakey, and stays put.

I see. I'll definitely check it out! ;)

I also was going to recommend Bobbi Brown and also in either bisque or light bisque because those colors are great for dark circles.

hmm....do you girls know how the Dior hydrating concealer is comparing to the Bobbi Brown one?

Ummm... Honestly, I prefer Bobbi's because the pigmentation is better, tehrange of colors is much bigger and they are creamy enough not to be drying though cakey enough not to cake (if you understand what I mean...).

Much better pigmented than Dior IMHO.
