as for me saying charlize has european features, i stand behind that- i know she is from south africa- she is of german heritage though and many who are blond and are from south africa are of dutch roots- all is very much 100% european. and to me, charlize has amazing strong cheekbones like dietrich( my personal style icon and favorite) or ursula andress who she played and i thought she did well- even though ursula is very petite and disputed charlize playing her as charlize is so long and tall...
i do think nobody looks like her- marilyn- agree totally on this- love seeing the shoots and pics of those who are styled like her...i did think ashley came close and is similar build and round sweetness to her face and did a great job of doing the voice and how she carried herself in an otherwise bad film...mira sorvino was horrible as the older marilyn...oh well...i guess that is the mark of a legend to not be duplicated!

well, that was specifically for a marilyn monroe photoshoot.
Personally, if you want to say Marilyn-wanna-be, i think Scarlett Johanson is trying miles harder to be marilyn than Charlize.

I can't decide if there is a resemblence or not-may be b/c I see Lauren as so much classier than mischa my judgement is skewed. Also Lauren's beauty seems unique while Mischa's seems bland. Anyway does anyone else think they look alike?

They kinda tried that with The Aviator. While I liked the movie overall, I DID NOT buy Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner, or Gwen Stefani as Jean Harlow. I thought Cate Blanchett gave a great performance but I had problems seeing her as Katherine Hepurn.
