Daily Exercise

ashtanga yoga for 1 hour. (the yoga teacher was upset because we were not motivated - it was veeery hot - and ended the class eariler hehe)

1hr @ gym
45min swimming

What do you enjoy the most ? I used to do just like you but not in the same day, it'd be 45 min of swimming today, 2-3 hours of gym tomorrow, alternated, the whole week. But then stopped with gym, it was making me loose much time and sometimes I'd get some pains in my backs. I think swimming is the best sport for me.
This week did no swimming :(, but I'm planning to start going every day next week, to shape up and gain some more weight :)

I also prefer swimming; I used to swim competitively, so I would have to train every day but once I quit it took years for me to get back into the pool. Now that I've started again, I am enjoying going almost every day (or at least 5x per week if I can). I go to the gym about 3x per week, to work on muscle strength and do some other light cardio...I get so frustrated in the gym though :yuk: I find it so relaxing in the pool!
I'm sorry you weren't able to go swimming this week, I'm sure next week will be good for you, you'll feel great when you finish your laps :flower:
Do you count laps when you go, or just go for a set time?

Yes, I can imagine, I started to get sick of gym and left it. I used to count the laps but not anymore, maybe if I start training correctly, I will. The best training I did so far was 80 laps in 1h 10 min. :flower:

That is excellent! I always try to count laps, but I get distracted by old people and children swimming in the wrong lanes, so I never know what I do.

Thank you. I want to do better than that though but that was my best so far. I'm only able to count the laps because I make a training plan (or at least was doing before, not doing lately). I do like 20 laps of Backs, then 20 of Crawl and then 20 Breaststroke and then repeat it again. So it's easier to keep track. You have to be concentrated on what you're doing as well, I guess ... I always try to avoid the rush hours, in order to have less people in the pool and have a free lane only for me.

I'm thinking about starting tennis.
Has someone here already practiced?
Is it good for the body?
thanks ;)

Tennis is very good, I used to play it every single day when I was in middle school, it gives you such a pleasure. It's definitely good for your body, it works basically your legs (muscles below the knee, mostly) and arms. It doesn't give you a total body work out as swimming gives you but provides you a legs' work out that swimming doesn't ... when playing tennis, sometimes you are standing by and you immediately need to run fast to catch the ball, pretty much the same as football and those abrupt accelerations are very exhausting ... if you did only swimming, even if were great at it your legs would be easily exhausted when playing tennis.

My new obsession...
BIRKRAM YOGA!!

If you can handle heat, try it
Its mind, body and soul therapy
