Nothing wrong with being a denim diva. At least, in the minds of those who completely love denim. I usually think of denim jumpers older ladies wear. Ladies will think of jeans and some jackets when denim comes to mind. Finding the right pair of denim jeans is something a lady of any age normally wants to do. The challenge for me would involve if designers are able to come up with the most comfortable, most stylish, and most appealing denim dresses. I go back to more conservative denim dresses as the only real denim dresses I can recall. I can remember from a JCPenney Christmas catalog back from 1997 (how do I remember these things?) that there was a sort of Mom and Me dress package in which there was a long button-down dress made for both mommy and her little daughter. The two models wore some low-heel boots to accompany the denim dresses.
Can designers come up with denim dresses that ladies will love like their favorite pair of jeans? Can it sell? It likely can sell. The deal about it all relates to if designers can make denim dresses to be as wonderful as womens' favorite jeans. I was thinking about one of my friends who used to wear floor-length denim trumpet skirts. You know, the kind of skirts that flare out at the bottom? I imagined if someone could make a stylish dress out of a lovely denim skirt. In the case of a denim dress using a floor-length trumpet skirt as inspiration, the torso of the dress has to flow beautifully up top. I'm thinking of a loose fit below the waist while rather snug for the belly and bustline.
Most denim dresses are mostly conservative; not truly chic. I'm sure denim dresses could catch on, but I'm not so sure if many ladies will wear denim dresses and love them as much as their favorite pair of jeans.
