Dimples

I have dimples, and i love them. All in all, they aren't a very big deal. If you're pretty you will be with or without them.

on both sides... ^_^

They are okay.. i don't hate them or anything...

i only got one on the left of my face. i wish i got it on both sides of my face. it looks so cute on some girls even on guys. :flower:

I have dimples when I smile real big.

EVERYONE always says, "Aww..how cute, you have dimples!"

It's kind of funny, becuase they are like hidden dimples.

Wonder why people sometimes have one? How about a chin dimple? Those can be cute!

To be honest, and no offense to anyone intended, I don't care for dimples on anyone. I have a small dimple right next to the left corner of my mouth, and I don't like it at all. They're cute when you're a kid, and cute when you're grown up--[the latter of] which is the problem. To make matters worse, past a certain age (35 or so?), they start to look like big craggy wrinkles (perish the thought! I rub cream in and around mine to try to prevent this from happening). The most beautiful faces (imo) involve no dimples. At least, I can't think of any gorgeous faces that sport dimples... Well, there's this fab-looking ice dancer named Tanith Belbin who has them, and rather deep ones I wager, and so far makes them work, and I don't like it on her, either. In time I expect them to look craggy just like everyone else's.

Dimples run in my family. Lots of cousins have them, plus a few aunts and uncles--but neither of my parents do, nor does my brother, so I wanna give mine away.

Anybody else here have them? Mine are terribly prominent and no matter how much people tell me they're adorable, I hate them. I don't want them to turn into long lines of wrinkleness... Share experiences, please... :flower:

Hmm...I have dimples, and I've noticed that my nasolabial folds (the line from your nostril to the corner of your mouth) are pretty much non-existent, even though I'm of an age where they're supposed to be getting prominent. I wonder if it's because the dimples take away some of the "pressure" on the folds.

If you want to avoid wrinkles, the best strategy is sunblock, hats, sunglasses, retinoids, etc.

Me too! I have a tiny dimple next to the left corner of my mouth and it drives me absolutely nuts. I've had it since I was a little kid and every guy I've been with has pointed it out to me as "cute" flaw. Yeah right. If that thing becomes a "craggy wrinkle" in ten years or so, I'll have no compunction about botoxing it out of existence. My only concern is that I don't want lose the ability to smile on one side of my face. What kind of cream do you use on your dimple, Galviggo? Do you use Retin A?

I don't use any of the retinoids (too strong for my skin) but lately I've been using this Israeli Dead Sea Minerals eye cream. Before then, I didn't use any creams except around my eyes, but one day it occurred to me that the little dimple would one day turn into a craggy fault line. I can't find a picture of the eye cream, but it comes in a round, translucent glass container with an aqua cap. It's a thick, concentrated pure white cream. I bought it at TJ Maxx for $4.99. :flower: I don't know if it really works, though. I just use it as a preventive and hope it does its job! When I run out of that, I'll probably just substitute with the Kiehl's abyssine eye cream that I got over Christmas:

But actually, what I really want is this:

or this:

but I can't justify the exorbitant prices.

I hear you on the annoying dimples. I already don't like them on women, but I especially dislike them on men because it ruins the strength and prowess of a masculine face. I'm sort of lucky, though, because mine is like a mini-dimple in the shape of a half-comma rather than the typical deep, fault-line like type of dimple that run in my dad's side of the family.

I have two dimples on each cheek. I don't remember what I felt about them when I was a child but anyway I love them now. I don't get compliments about them because I don't smile that much around people. I know it doesn't sound very logical but that's what I feel anyway.

I don't like them on Jennifer Garner at all! Also I don't like it when they are uneven because that means asymmetric cheekbones but overall they are adorable.
