well I don´t think the 4 button is a bad option at all - it´s just more of a boxy shape by design, it reminds me of the suits worn by the beatles in the 1960ies when they were just starting their career. I find it quite nice, worn more like an outerwear garment than a formal dressed up blazer jacket. I think it´s very continuous, considering the shape of the jackets for the upcoming season (5 buttons, short length, same silhouette).

Eh, I still don't like it. Hedi always maintained the classic suit look but gave it a slim, sharp look. The 4 or 5 button look just reminds me of cheap prada. For some reason the multi-button look just looks low-class to me. The razor sharp elegant look just doesn't echo for me in a cut like that (nor does it in this coming s/s!)

I've only just noticed that the current ties are all Made in Italy; the ones i own state 'Hand Made in France' !

I still don't understand why Christian Dior Femme clothing is all Made in France whilst D.Homme has to be manufactured in Italy..

Just want to say hi to everyone since i am new to this forum.

here's a quick report to my visit to DH store today.

- no more 05 s/s it is now all 05 a/w
- 5 belts on display including all 4 from eluxury
- this season's new jean cut are in - blue and black raw, 2 different shade of orange overdye
- lots of sweaters and tees
- the blue bubble down jacket is $1900 something
- a cord suit is either $2300 something or $2800 something

btw i am so sad to hear my guy caleb no longer works there now i need to be friendly with someone else

Victim I think the last picture on page 84 (the one with the scarf) is with the high 1 button jacket. You're not supposed to button it , and it doesnt look bad on the runway. I also like the 4 button jacket. It looks almost it's a normal blazer where the bottom has been cut of. I think it looks very sharp on the runway too.

Just went to the local stockist for DH today and they're starting to trickle in the winter stuff...they had some really bad sleeveless sweatshirts, 'The End' hoodie which wasn't special, tried on the molleton hoodie which was nice but it costs nearly $600 over here so i'll wait til NY. The thing that stuck out the most was the new orange overdye jeans, which are HORRIBLLLLEEEE...it's not even so much orange, it seems to be more of a 'yellow' shade. The blue is much lighter, the whiskering is less pronounced and the orange dye is nowhere near the eye-catching yet stylish dirty effect of the original orange overdye jeans from VotC. It seems they're getting really lazy with the jeans production...which doesn't bother me so much until i saw the price: $705 for one of the styles and the other was $628...and these weren't even the ones with the metal zipper on the back pocket! One of them had a threadbare hole in the right pocket, where the fifth pocket is normally located, but still the distressing details weren't that elaborate. It's definitely not a jean that stands out from the rest of the cookie cutter designer denim world, and definitely not what i expect from DH jeans. If anyone has seen these jeans around NYC boutiques, could you please let us know what the price was over there? I seriously didn't expect the prices to skyrocket this much, considering the stuff doesn't have nearly as much details are previous stuff.

Dior Homme Sneakers: Sizing

Trying to get an idea of what size I'd take in dior homme sneakers, in particular, the chuck taylor style shoe. I own a couple pair of dior boots in size US10/euro43 and they fit well. However, in Addidas Stan Smith (and some other brands of tennis shoes) I take a US 11. I've heard the dior sneakers fit a little smaller than the dior boots/dress shoes. Anyone own both a pair of dior dress shoes and a pair of dior sneakers? Is the sizing the same? If I'm a 43 in the dior dress shoe, will a 43 in the dior chucks work? Or will I need to go up to a 44?

Matt, I believe the jeans are around $465 here at full price... I have a pair of the new orange overdyes that are pretty much a deep blue with very light fading. They are pretty comfortable, I have to tell you, although this pair is a 32 and thus 1 size too big from what I need (anyone want to buy it? only tried on! Comes with a sexy Dior gift box!). I'm gonna purchase it again in a 31. Compared to the orange overdye of VotC, they aren't as... elaborate, but they are soft (a different denim is used, that has a smoother, almost oily feel) and comfortable. I like the extra distressing done to the little change pocket too, it's different. Although I miss the old days of the claw marks on the left knee!

From the sound of it, prices are more realistic at the NYC store. HK probably jacks up prices just like Japan does, although not nearly as much eh?

They are pretty comfortable, I have to tell you, although this pair is a 32 and thus 1 size too big from what I need (anyone want to buy it? only tried on! Comes with a sexy Dior gift box!). I'm gonna purchase it again in a 31. Hmm...I think the $465 orange overdyes you're talking about are the ones from S/S carried over to the new season (i even heard they're never going on sale at Dior boutiques, can anyone clarify?), which are dark blue with a subtle fading, pronounced whiskering detail, and much softer denim than the Winter ones. I got those too, and at a price which was over here closer to the US retail price...but these new jeans i'm talkin about has the same rough/thick feel of VotC overdyes, but the blue is really faded and the orange dye actually resembles more of a yellowish tint. They are actually quite similar to the Alexander McQueen jeans of S/S 05 which had that sand blasted orangey effect, except yellow. The retail price here is crazy...$5,500, which was the same as the Lurex jeans so based on that alone I'd guess they're around $570 in the States. What puzzles me though is that there are NO significant details on the jeans which would warrant such a drastic increase in price, so I am wondering if the buyers here got it wrong, or if the retail price worldwide has skyrocketed. If it is the latter, then I'm really beginning to find Dior's price setting strategies to be VERY inconsistent.

Another interesting point to note is the HK prices are not in line with the U.S. difference in prices...I understand there must be some import tax, but the Molleton hoodie is $410 in the states, which the S/S overdyes were $465, but over here the hoodie is $4,500 while the jeans were only $4,400 HKD at full retail! After seeing that I knew I'm never buying any more Dior in Hong Kong, perhaps the buyers are capitalizing on the popularity of the brand and set prices for more attention grabbing items higher?

Also, the grey lurex jeans got carried over here in HK...

sorry for that long winded post, whenever i talk about Dior i tend to get lost in a (often heated) train of thought!

Interesting, I didn't know the reissued another version of the orange overdye. The pair that I have (that i'm actually wearing right now) is a slight bit lighter than I remember the VotC ones being. This pair is from last season too.... I didn't remember seeing the darker, softer overdyes last season and the pair that I have was tagged as this season (5EH or whatever the current season is).

Ah well.

The price jacking in the asian countries MUST occur just because they know people will still buy it. I guess one should factor in the slightly higher cost of rent at some of these shopping locations, but man... some things are like 30-50% MORE than US prices, which are already high in comparison to European prices.

Almost everybody who buys DH at Joyce HK gets 10% discount. You only need the private label credit card, and no sales tax

About the fitting'

I went to DH in Osaka and tried on some of the outerwear. Most of it was disappointing. The leatherjackets were way to large! I usuarlly wear 46 or 44 (177 cm 62 kg), but the s44 leatherjackets felt like they were 2 sizes too big. The same goes for most of the other outerwear as well. The only thing that was cut slim in the lines of what we expect Dior to be like was a black, shiny, one buttoned short blazer/jacket, which when I put it on gave me a flashback of the glorious days before VotC.

It seems like it's the same deal with the shirts. I bought the red star shirt from SS05, which was very slim and fitted perfectly at sz 38, but the sz 37 shirts from the current season are too big.

They had loads of corduroys and jeans, some without bootcut. I like most of the models, but I'm waiting to try on a pair of distressed verlour pants before I buy anything.

I bought a gray Pete Tee and a long black silkscarf with long bronze fringes, a piece I'm very happy with!
