Let us all know when you get your pieces and the quality Alex!
I definitely will. I'm having him make a variation of the S/S 06 safari blazer and a basic peak lapel one-button grey blazer.

Try Alfredo or Sharon. Good Luck !!! I know there are guys ordered items before me :p

mouko mentioned this before. The shoulders on dior homme blazers are made using a rolled process which makes it peak a little bit above the trapezius muscle area. and its not a secret method, its just that other brands dont want to copy although there are other brands use the same method. jil sander has its own way of making their blazers, and theyre not going to copy dior homme because its popular right now. jil has its own fan base which probably dont like the way dior blazers are made anyway. plus what makes dior homme blazers expensive is the floating canvas method used on their stuff.

Yes, the shoulder seam on Dior jackets are superbly cut and to die for. I can never understand why other brands don't have the same cut - is it a secret like the Coca-Cola formula?? Or the Jil Sander's jackets don't seem to be in proportion - the narrow chest with baggy sleeves - yeah, great look.....not.

Finally found another S/S 06 jacket I think it kinda cool. Hate the plaid lining, though. SOOO Dior...NOT!

And in black...

Reminds me a tiny bit of the Red collection with the belt the way it is, which is probably why I kinda like it.

Yeah it's a hot jacket Alex! Definitely a rarity. If you look closely, it even looks like the front buttons would be hidden under a flap when worn closed too! I have never seen it anywhere, in any color myself.

I want the wool/leather version of this that was put out for Reflection. The extra long leather cuff on black wool blazer is just a seriously awesome look!

Alex, that trench from S/s 06 you posted...

It's super gorgeous.. i've tried it on once, and the cut was amazing.. but it was a sz 46 :(

Yeah, I noticed that, too...definitely cool. And I think green is such an underutilized and very fresh color, especially for leather. I love how Christopher Bailey utilizes it for Burberry Prorsum, and much to my surprise, I loved it in John Richmond's F/W 06 collection!

This might be a really obvious question, but does anyone else think the older collections are way more modern-looking than the new ones?

Is that a blood droplet necklace from Red?

I always thought this ring was cool...

In some shops in the UK, if you buy the Perfume and something else from Dior Homme, you get this amazing Dior Homme leather box with it in the "Black Tie" leather style...

When by the shop today at lunch time, if one of your 2 items is a short, sb, 1 button, peaked lapel blazer with matching pants (AKA a suit :D ) size 48(46) you'll get it a little bit later as I'm supposed to come back on friday and see if I take this one or maybe size 46 or maybe nothing. I normally wear a size 46 (euro) in dior but this suit is tight when butonned and I don't want to look like a sausage.

As for the dior construction being superior to Jil Sander I must say that I do own a Jil Sander suit and the construction is usually a cut above dior (not that dior is badly constructed or anything...). The styling is different though so it's fair to say you might like one and not the other. Others don't copy Dior because they do their own thing, diversity is the spice of life, no?

I think so...I always thought the first couple collections (leading all the way up to Strip) were some of the most modern, actually I would say FUTURISTIC (especially the first 2, and perhaps even Luster which looks like it could come out of a Japanese anime story which takes place in 2052) collections in recent menswear history...vintage/retro rock stylings aside, I think even the upcoming winter collection is reminiscent of 60's/70's style art films, maybe it was the lighting in those photos I saw on Getty Images when they first came out but I picture them being worn in a scene where people are congregating at some big banquet with a lot of pretentious smiles and flattery going around...very aristocratic (not to detract from the clothes, which I thought were nice mostly, I'm just describing the kind of image they evoke from me).

oh man that blazer is my size i'd buy it if i had the cash but alas i don't :(

You can always send it to me as a birthday present, i'm turning 22 on march 8th.

edit: im talking about the Luster jacket.

Alex, I saw the trench today. My advice is to stay away - you can find better things for $1200. Not only the lining is fugly, the fabric feels cheap, and it will attract lint like **** does flies. The entire collection is horrible, quality and look wise, except the leather jacket that was over $3k.

Oh don't worry, I don't like it nearly enough to ever consider purchasing, plus I'd never buy it simply as a matter of principle. I've just been trying to find some redeeming qualities in the collection, and it is nearly impossible, it seems. The fabric even looks cheap in the pictures.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure can't wait to get my 'the end' shirt customized with another dude's nipple imprints on it. :ninja:
