/\ and if you really want to, you can write "dior homme" on them!

Why not right? After all, people are clearly shelling out hundreds for the MMM issue german military sneakers with random pen graffiti on it. Man... those are ********. Sorry Margiela!

I have to admit that I'm a bit of a hypocrite here though. I'm currently wearing those black converse style hi-tops from a couple of seasons ago.... BUT i got them at the 50% off elux sale so they were like $125.

Most of the time I wear my dirt cheap german military sneaks, some onitsukas or chucks. None were over $65 a pair. It's the best way to go.

Yea, those are a little nuts. Not my cup of tea for sure.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. Get a pair of white converses my friend. Seriously.

Either some Jack Purcell's

Or the classic white converses

Once you've got a pair of jeans over the upper portions of these sneakers, they are absolutely identical to the DH ones.

There are times to buy DH, and times when not to. This is a time to save yourself a few hundred bucks and buy $50 Chucks my friend.

Look how big the nose is on those Jack Purcell's … that’s pretty ugly don’t you think? Same goes for the Converse sneakers + you have to wear them for three years before they look decent even if that’s means walking on your bare feet : P

I'm actually getting more and more curious about the cummerbund... I could actually see myself wearing it with a black suit and crisp white shirt while going out drinking at a classy joint. Now, the question is: what's the price?:innocent:

Well, in fact, that's not THAT original.. I mean I is part of the stereotypical black tie, although it's less and less worn. In france, nobody would wear it in a formal occasion (nobody would wear a black tie in a formal occasion anyway). I was told that it is quite common in the US. The only thing i can say is that I saw many many people with it (errrr mostly people who works in restaurants ^^) in Greec.

About the price, I remember something around 350 Eur for the leather ones, on a über-fashion-but-not-so-known french magazine. Now it seems me quite cheap for leather but who knows?

You've got to be kidding.

The only thing you find attractive about the DH ones is that they say Dior somewhere. If they were Converse you would probably dismiss them as being ugly as well.

Hmm, I think you're just talking yourself out of them as a realistic and smart alternative to the DH version. Are those little (practically negligible) differences REALLY worth $300 to you?

I mean... for $300 you can buy a hell of a lot of things and you'd still have a solid pair of white laceups:

for $300 you could have purchased:
- 2 of the key+ feather necklaces by Ann Demeulemeester (almost... they were a bit more than $150 each)
- a Rick Owens tee
- a Carpe Diem hat
- a DH dress shirt
- some DH jeans
- a DH belt
- a couple DH graphic tees

each of these would be about that price.

Now tell yourself, is that $300 REALLY TRULY ABSOLUTELY worth you not making a concession and getting the Converses (which it's clear that Hedi is insinuating that you get. Hell, even HE wears them)?

I'm just trying to help you make a logical decision. God knows I made poor clothing purchases in the past which wasted a lot of money.

Oh I know... hell I think i have a cummerbund laying around somewhere from my high school prom days hahaha.

It's just a slightly different look that could be interesting if you were to wear it out to a lounge on a friday night. Now, the question would be... is it a "trying too hard" look or a "cool, that's a bit different" look?^_^

For 350 euro though... I'll put money on something other than accessories!

stores with DH in Vienna

Hi, does anybody know where can I find DH in Vienna? Any boutique / store / select shop? Where? I checked superfuture, nothing...
Thanks!

I think it is more "trying too hard"
anyway, i used to have one when i was a little girl boy (i mean: it was deep red with flowers on it  )
350 is for the leather ones (I wouldn't wear it, kinda SM i think)
Satin must be chaper
I'm in love (but wouldn't wear it) with the deep blue (?) one, very wide, worn by a boy at the very beginning, with a bolero jacket

I think I'm going to make my big, ugly 1980s Members Only leather jacket into a cummerbund. Leather would be cool. I already have a cotton one, I need a satin one though. But you're right about the leather version: totally bondage!

Aww would you be son kind to post a picture of you with the cummerbund? (nothing wrong intended, your face isn't required, I'm just curious on how someone can wear it outside the very strict and formal way)

*not sure my sentence is understandable though  *

Thank you so much
I'm so curious. The first time I saw the runway I found it odd, it reminded me of those ouzo-bar-boys in Delphia. Now I really like it, I can't wait to see the price!

By the way new new stuff on LVR in addition of what I said the other day. Some new hats, but no shoes yet. And some YOU or ME jewels
