Dita Von Teese

wow, i have to say that i think salma hayek is one of the sexiest women in the world, but dita makes her look a little frumpy in these photos! also not a great angle, but still...

Just to let all UK residents know, the July issue of New Woman magazine has just come out and Dita is on the front cover! :)

yeah, she does remind me of Snow White! but she also has this naughty look to her. its a perfect combination! innocent and naughty!

I really like that look. The contrast between innocent and naughty which is prob why I like Stammy so much. Lol.

Getting boring

Ever since Dita has come into "high fashion" she has traded her real avant garde style for brand name and now she's losing my interest. She's losing her looks too. I know I'll get my behind kicked for saying anything against La Dita since so many of her fans have signed up on these messageboards. Sorry.

I don't get why people like her at all. She looks kinda freaky with all those costumy outfits and that pale stuff on her face. Other than being Marylin Mason's wife? what else she does?

Don't be sorry, you are entitled to your own opinion! I know what you mean about the 'high fashion'...I miss the days when she wore more or less entirely vintage.

Not to say that I don't think she looks stunning in all these new dress, imo she's still as beautiful as ever...when you say you think she is losing her looks, in what way do you mean? Sometimes she can look a little tired around the eyes, but if you knew how hard she works and how little sleep she sometimes has to get by on I think you'd understand more!

I love her style. Her clothes, hair, skin, makeup and so on. She really does reminds of Snow White and also Bettie Page I think. I love when today's women like for exemaple Dita, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera borrows style from that era.

*sighs* if you bother to take the time and look on the internet and especially her website www.dita.net you'd know that she does much more than besides being married to a rock star.

Yeah but Dita does it with so much more class than Gwen or Christina, I sometimes like what it is that they try to do, but mostly they can come across as looking very trashy (just my opinion!).

I totaly agree. i love Gwen and Christina but Dita just has a more classy look and sense of style... i think its ebcause Gwen and christina try to make it Funky classic which doesnt work all the time. (my opinion only)

Dita is really embraced by 'the fashion world', why is that, and who started it?

Thank you for being so nice about it. About her looks, in my opinion, there is some of the glamour that is missing from her older days. She used to be a more do-it-yourself kind of gal and now I only see her in designer fashion and not really expanding on it style-wise. Sure she has to wear designer duds to fashion events (maybe. Does she HAVE to? Maybe not if she's brave enough and KNOWS style enough to say "no, this is good enough) but even when she talks, all she ever says is what desiiigner things she has daahling. Not to be disrespectful to her because I still like what she is going for but I see that she is becoming a bit of what she said she never wanted to be - totally influenced by designers and stylists. Fine, she may not have a stylist (which I doubt because a stylist can also just be a connection to designer clothing samples and deals and not necassarily dictate what you wear) but she's not showing her creativity which is what is and was beautiful about her. Her physical features, now that I've seen her in the media more doesn't impress me as much as I used to be because now I see that all the time when I thought she was pretty she was actually just a fabulous illusionist who was able to make a regular plain sort of buck-toothed girl look glamorous. That's the highest compliment I could give to anyone. Lately, the only thing about Dita that is still Dita is the complexion, black hair, and somewhat retro style. Her "classiness" is now appearing to be more of her bragging about herself and professing to be a lady.
One other thing, she recently said that she doesn't know why other celebrities hide their plastic surgery. It wasn't until Howard Stern radio show that she kind of let out her implant job. It's not anyone's business anyway but she used to deny to her fans that she had anything done. She used to say she was all natural all the time and even used her appearance in an Andrew Blake film as proof of her all-naturaleness because he doesn't film supposedly anybody but all natural girls. Then after she kind of fessed up she said her claim of being all natural was in reference to her lack of tattoos. She's just not seeming sincere even to her own image and that was her only attraction in the first place. So many girls could dress like her without the tattoos, and dye their hair that way and if the sincerity isn't there, Dita is pretty forgettable.

I think she is embraced by the fashion world now largely due to her having a great manager who btw used to be a manager for The Pussycatdolls.

About her only being Marilyn Manson's wife, Dita has definitely stuck at her business long enough to have earned the success but being Manson's wife has brought her into mainstream gigs and bigger events.
