I agree with you too Betty, especially about the white skin. I think it looks good with her dark hair and many people like myself can't help it if we have it, I just can't tan, I burn. Also those fake tans look FAKE, nobody is "that" orange, Paris and Jessica. I don't know how this tan craze ever caught on but some people are taking it way too far. I love Dita's style too, she looks great!

a stereotype is usually a sweeping generalization, so i guess i was considering anyone with pale skin, black hair and red lips who wears vintage clothes to fit that one (including myself). sure, everyone has their own little twist on it, but such subtle differences are often lost on most people. i'm not saying it's right, just that that's the group they will inevitably put her in.

the mentioning of bettie page just made me feel a little uncomfortable (-> stereotype),because I really dislike this category thinking that is taking place in many people's minds.it's a lot easier to say "oh,she's (this) or (that)" instead of actually informing oneself about a certain person/style or whatsoever;I think that's rather sad.

i like her. i don't think she's vulgar per se. she does take her clothes off and is a burlesque dancer but there's something about her that's quite mysterious. look at the hollywood "it" girls now. they're more vulgar than dita. i like to think of her as sexually aware and that kind of boldness isn't really new. i don't think i've heard any scandal about her nor any erratic behavior in public so i can safely say that vulgar isn't really a word i'd associate with her. it's baseless. also, i've heard about her even before she was married to marylin manson and yes, she does dress impressively (and with much success compared to others).

I think its hilarious how people actually bash this woman for being too "costumey," "pale," "doing the same thing all the time," etc etc.

Take at look at 95% of female Hollywood. They are ALL blonde, tan and hookerish down to every last one; even the women-of -color!! AT LEAST she has class. AT LEAST she acts like a lady AT LEAST she sticks to A STYLE and is not a trend wh*re like cough-Lindsay, cough-PAris cough- Ashelee/Jessica Simpering-idiot-son.

I think she's beautiful and I love that she does her own thing in the face of the barbie machine that is Hollywood nowadays.

thank you. i completely agree! not to offend anyone but i really don't like it when people refer to lindsay, jessica, nicole ritchie, etc. as fashion icons. they are the ones who look costumey. look at their outfits from day to night. they are all too stylized, too made up, too much effort has been put and they all look the same. very forced and contrived. "trendy" alright! the only time people notice their personality is when they do something fit for the tabloids. dita's look harkens back to the old hollywood times but she shines through the outfits that she wears. that is personal style.
