Dita Von Teese

Great invterview in which Dita's talking about commercialization of burlesque, beeing a stripteaser, about her style and the beginning of her career.
And yes, she has mentioned she doesn't have a stylist :p

Another interview, this time about love and sex.

can't wait to see more pisc of her new lingerie collection!

evve, thank you for Dita's candids.

Dita doesn't have a stylist. She emphasizes this in almost every interview :innocent:

Sorry, you're right, and stylist was a bad choice of words. I was referring more to designers and fashion insiders who she consults with directly in order to get the pieces she wears.

Thanks for the interviews bedtimeStory :flower:

She was on Loose Women at lunchtime today. She looked fab, made those old witches look more worse than usual lol!

littlepaperstars, thank you for the picture. I'm not sure if I like that dress, too much loose fabric. On twitter Dita was wondering which dress she should wear for that occasion, I like the other outfit much better.

She has taken so much luggage! I would love to see what fantastic clothes were there ^_^

I believe she has her clothing custom fitted. Everything she wears fits her perfectly! length, width et al.

The interview is up on youtube.

She did very well considering she was constantly interrupted (I just kept wanting to scream "shut up and let her speak!" at my screen  ). And I love the snippet of her performance at the start.

That interview really annoyed me. Why bother asking her questions if they won't let her answer. I was especially interested in her response about body image and they cut her off!!!

Exactly! She did good job, because she was super nice (as always) and kept poker face, even if it was obvious those annoying women were not very interested in what she wanted to say. Plus, as always, same question about difference between striptease and burlesque, she said so many times shes proud of being called a stripper, I dont get why people try to make her say that burlesque is better than "normal" stripping and make all those funny names ("sexy dancing" etc.), when it's obvious everything what she represents is against that. I felt really sorry for her, but it was very impressive same time, Dita is very patient person ^_^

I liked her dress and hair, she makes it (the hair) in a bit different way than about 5-6 years ago, it used to be more classic retro 30s 40s curls, now its more straight and she curls the tips (I wonder how shes doing it, can't wait her beauty book).

i'm not very happy the way her PR/MANAGEMENT handle her career. i've met Dita Von Teese twice already, and she's breath taking in person. There's absolutely no way, you can deny her beauty. I know she has the image, the personality and drive to succeed in the entertainment industry. But of course, you need someone or something that will take to the next level. And unfortunately, the clock is ticking. She's not getting any younger. So in order to stay relevant in Hollywood, you'll need to build your brand and keep expanding and promote yourself! Her manager, Melissa Dishell comes across like an opportunist. Where are the movie roles, magazine covers... show appearances? Dita has been trying to get into acting for a while now. Why can't her people focus on booking important jobs that will help her career rather than putting her out there to promote liquor like she's an alcoholic.

She's debuting her first perfume early 2012 along with a new lingerie collection. Which I can't wait, but do people really know who she is to go out and support her and buy her stuff?

I just wished we as fans got the chance to see more of Dita on magazines, silver screen or small screen.

WOW beautiful dress on her. I doubt anyone else could pull it off the way she does.

I see your point, of course Dita could promote herself in the entertainment industry and become very popular even outside USA, however I'm not sure if it is what she wants. She has recently talked about commercialization of the burlesque and I got the impression that she's not quite happy with it. Besides, as a fan I don't want her to appear in every show as an participant or judge on tv like Dancing with the stars, X factor etc. As far as acting is concerned, is Dita really an actress? I think she should be focused on her performances.

I hope she won't dissipate her talents like many celebrities nowadays.

sobriquet87, thank you for great pictures! she looks divine :flower:

I wouldnt think so, she said herself, CSI was just an adventure and shes not planning to be an actress now. I dont mind shes the face of Cointreau or other brands, as long as it "fits" her and she doesnt feel embarrassed by advertising something, but I see your point. What I personally miss is her "old" image, from 2005/06 when she was more brave and experimented with her look, that was still "her look", but it was a bit different than it is now, more surprising and extraordinary.

^ As much as I'd love to see her as a big screen actress (and show Hollywood starlets how to do it...) I didn't enjoy her acting on CSI.

I'm totally jealous that you guys have met her :flower:

But it seems like Dita has this ongoing thing with CSI because she flew to Miami to film their version a few weeks ago. She's already appeared on Las Vegas, so I believe she does enjoy acting, and she wants to be taken serious.

And about the commercialization of the burlesque. I think she felt like it was becoming, too "Trendy" with not the proper knowledge of Burlesque, especially because of the movie. But, I still believe the producers of Burlesque missed up BIG time by not casting her for a role. So of course, Dita wasn't going to support a movie that didn't show her any support. But isn't it ironic how the producers of Burlesque tried to make Kristen Bell into a Dita Von Teese lookalike?
