this mite kinda be a stupid question, but when you wear makeup such as foundation and blush etc. do they damage your skin and how? becus many products claim to be non irratiating non comodemic etc.
well when you are puting all of those chemicals on your skin as often as most people do, you would think so... clearly it wouldn't be helping your skin.
Wearing too much make up all the time, without giving the skin time to ' recover ' will certainly damage your skin in one way or another.
But more important is the cleansing routine. You have to make sure to cleanse properly with the skincare products that suits your skin and let the face rest overnight.
Then there are mineral cosmetics that doesn't do any damage to my experience.
IMHO, my skin suffers during the hols and weekends when I don't use makeup! I believe that make up acts as a cover against the harsh elements out there. Think about it, between the chemicals in the make up and the level of pollution in the environment, it's really a choice between 2 evils. I think using the correct products actually protects the skin. But what Golden_Butterfly said could not be more true. The cleansing regime MUST be adhered to religiously otherwise, make up will definitely harm your skin.
Some makeup tries to benefit the wearer, like having an acne clearing concealer, or lipsticks with moisturizers and antioxidants. Foundation that contains sunblock might help someone out who isnt' really in the habit of wearing sunblock by itself.
