They're like the Valentino of Milan, except people are actually complaining.

exactly, for some reason i still love Valentino, but this is just plain boring.
They have build it's own grave from the moment they decided to redone their outfits but with different colors.

Looks like every season is Halloween at D&G. Lots of nice "Italian Lady" costumes to pick from.

I was thinking something along these lines myself. I think they do make some truly beautiful clothes, and this is definitely the best collection they've had since they started this obsession with Italy--but I do wonder, where to draw the line between costume and wearable clothing?

I think it's adorable, but I can't imagine anyone actually wearing it, except maybe to a costume party. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not saying Dolce & Gabbana are the only designers who seem to lean toward costumey--I definitely think the same thing about other designers, as well.

That's runway styling ... for real life you'd only wear one of the pieces. Though I'm sure there are some who'd replicate the runway look

I found this a perfectly pleasant collection. I don't recall their using photographic prints before ... but I wouldn't swear to that, I don't follow them religiously ink: Some nice polka dot pieces.

It used to be that they'd swing wildly between themes ... personally I think some consistent house codes are not a bad thing. They'll be selling lace, so why not show it on the runway?
