but there has always been some cross over between the two designers...
so that isn't surprising or unexpected...
in fact, for me...it's quite welcome...
One of my favorite Dries collections ever (liked the anniversary collection with the tabletop runway better). Since I'm not a print person, I love that they're toned down & can't wait to see this in stores ... the extremely voluminous pieces can stay in the showroom though (and I expect they will).
the whole thing is just so exuberant. and mind you,this is how one can still be a bit silly and kitschy and still have integrity and craftsmanship. it's the kind of work we used to get from bernhard willhelm but his approach has gone by wayside into hipster 80's territory these days.
This comes close to the brilliance of his SS09 collection . It's just enough edge injected in the classic DVN silhouettes. It feels fresh, aside from a few clunkers. And I'm obsessed with the prints
