Think best actor Oscar could be between Capote, Ledger, and Howard.

I'm curious to know which actors turned down the roles in Brokeback Mountain. It was an admirable risk taken by Heath and Jake, considering they are big actors with established fanbases. You know how damn restrictive Hollywood can be for an actor once they acheive Super A-list status.....they tend to not take as many risks....*shakes head*

For Oscars I think

actor: Phillip Seymour Hoffman
actress: Felicity Huffman
movie: Munich

Critics Choice Winners
Best Actress - Reese Witherspoon
Reese's speech was my absolute favorite during the awards show, she was hilarous... (not an exact quote:smile:

"I love the critics... well, this year... well, this half of the year" *background boos* then out of nowhere an seemingly unrelated adrupt "WHat!?" and then she went on to thank the usual people and concurred with a past winner "Memphis has the best barbecue..." in her southern accent (that kept popping in and out during her speech.

Critics Choice Winners
Best Director - Ang Lee

Once again another winner cut off... but funny nonetheless.
"I always thought it was absurd to compare and rate artistic work but now what the hell!" music, narration, lights starting out of nowhere; realizing he's not done.. and then thanking various people rapidly.

I think Rachel Weisz definitely deserves an award for Constant Gardener. She's a superb actress.

I was kind of surprised when she didn't get the CCA, but Amy Adams did!

Oh I hope not.

I understand how the Academy loves drama but Reese is way more deserving of the Oscar. I wouldn't be surprised of the Academy actually gave the Oscar to Felicity- at this moment.

Both actresses certainly have things going for them. Reese has had a longer acting career than Felicity and the Academy usually hands the award to those with a background. Felicity is someone who just came out into the spotlight and I would doubt her performance in "Transamerica" would be getting this much attention if it wasn't for the "Desperate Housewives...
I could go on and on but rather not bore you all.

I'm guessing for the oscars.

actor: Phillip Seymour Hoffman
actress: Felicity Huffman/Reese Witherspoon
movie: Brokeback Mountain
director: Ang Lee

Do Baftas have anything to do with Oscar noms?.. is there a relation at all between the voting pools? I'm happy Thandie got a nom.. I'm suprised Keira didn't get a nod though.. considering well.. she's british lol..
