This pic is new to me. It's by Hervé Gloaguen:

While I am investigating further, I have already learned that there are photographs in Giant that are not authentic. Giant was published in February 2006. David Weisman and I both feel that this image is Sienna, not Edie, and Gary Comenas (warholstars.org) says it is not Andy, but Guy Pearce. We've written to the photographer.... and I'll let you know the results.

Kind of creepy, isn't it?

It looks just like Edie and Andy to me. It looks more like Jennifer Garner than Sienna Miller, to be quite honest. You might try contacting a representative from Hachette Photos, which is where the photo is from.

Ok this is why I don't think it's Guy Pierce and Sienna:

Guy Pierce's hair was style differently during the film. It's a lot flatter and not bumpy/wavy like in the alleged Guy/Sienna photo:

The last few are from sienna-miller.org

Also, if you compare Guy and Andy's cheeks, Guy's are a lot more sucked-in looking.

Andy is the one who looks different to me in this picture. And if that is Sienna, this is the closest she has EVER looked like Edie..... All the other pics of her and Guy being Edie and Andy look different to me, very fake and unreal.....this is keeping me guessing.... I am interested to see the outcome of this one....thanks for sharing and keep us posted!!!

I don't think they look anything like Guy or Sienna (Guy especially)...
I think that could be Edie, the face is similar to the one in this picture. The shape of her face, the nose, the eyes...

Also the background in the photo looks too elaborate and authentic-looking compared to the crappy, cheesy version of the factory in FG.

Thanks EvaLaDiva!

Well, Gloaguen's gallery folks have confirmed that the photograph is, indeed, one of Hervé Gloaguen's. But I STILL think there's something strange about it -- perhaps it's simply a question of M. Gloaguen's photofinishing technique. I sharpened the image a bit, and it still doesn't feel right, somehow. But Edie was such a chameleon so it is highly possible the photograph really is Andy and Edie. I did find other photographs of Andy taken during the summer of '66 by Gloaguen - none with Edie though.

I give up for now, but if I come up with more information down the line, I'll post it.

The Theatre Of The Ridiculous

I don't think these were posted before, but I think they make for a rather fascinating read. Ronald Tavel's writings and scipts on making three films with Edie and Andy, oh so long ago. I hope you all enjoy them if you haven't seen them before. I haven't looked through M. Tavel's entire site but I think this is all there is that includes references to Edie.

I'd appreciate links to more works that people did with Edie, not just photographs or Warhol, if anyone cares to post them....

Horse: http://ronald-tavel.com/pdf/09.pdf Edie is not included in the script but I still think it's interesting.

Oops. Edie is in the second reel annotations for Horse. Sorry but I have a propensity to read and look and open my big trap before I really know!

I agree with you, BabyDoll. It is Andy who looks weird in that mystery picture, but I definately see Edie.

Thanks Liberty Bell for those links. I bought Vinyl last month, so that was very interesting to read.

I've never seen or heard anything about Horse...can anyone tell me Edie's part in it?

It was almost happenstance that Edie made a cameo appearance in Horse. This is from warholstars.org at http://www.warholstars.org/warholfilm/andywarhol7.html: "Although most Warhol historians maintain that Vinyl was Edie's first film, she actually made a short appearance in Horse which was filmed just prior to Vinyl - in March 1965. She can be seen in the background, entering the Factory with Ondine."

Mystery solved about the photograph. It really is Andy & Edie! I think what throws me off is that I am only seeing their reflections. That changes the image so much. I feel less stupid now - quite a few people who knew Andy and Edie at that time (65 or 66) thought it was just as suspicious as I did! It took a confirmation from the photographer's agent, and Billy Name for me to believe it! Yikes. Am I losing my marbles?

Emily Marie, I apologize for being skeptical and hesitant. It really is unnerving I thought it was Sienna in the photograph... I have a hard time watching Sienna steal Edie's light even for a moment... saying things that aren't true... the prejudice I now have against Factory Girl colors my vision sometimes.

Thanks for confirming Liberty Bell. I am glad to know it really is Edie....I thought it looked too much like her to be Sienna....

I hope everyone on our little Edie thread has a wonderful Easter weekend!!
