It's a wig I've only seen her with dark long hair which is her natural hair

^yeah they added a hair piece (in the book the woman in charge then mentioned that her hair wasn't in good condition)

and benjamin anders, I think edie was around 5'5 or 5'6...I remember reading an article about her where she states that she had gotten a little thin. she said she was 5'5.5" and 103 lbs at the time it was written ('65 I believe)
