good news first: (v. end of the article)

http://www.marinij.com/lifestyles/ci_3160289

the downer:

"According to the ShreveportTimes.com where the film was relocated for filming, they put out an ad looking for vintage items...see below... AND they mention who is in the film and Green Day is listed. Hello? What the hell! They are trying to make this a pop film yes? I mean put Green Day in it and all the kiddies will come see it. Don't tell me they will be playing members of the Velvet Underground? I don't buy it!

Film looking for vintage vehicles, other items

Got a 1955-1965 car? It could be in the movies.

"Factory Girl," an independent film about Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick in the 1960s New York factory scene, is in search period cars, trucks, buses, clothes and furniture.

The movie stars Sienna Miller, Guy Pearce, Hayden Christensen, Jimmy Fallon and the band Green Day. It is directed by George Hickenlooper.

Contact Rob Ortiz at (318) 631-8330 for more information."

Jimmy Fallon?!?! Alright...

This movie is clearly going to suck and it will not be because of Sienna, shes the only part of it that makes sense.Green Day-NO WAY and the location-NO WAY!I read an article in MEAN mag about this movie and the person making it knows NOTHING about Edie and doesnt seem to care I'm just going to pretend this movie doesnt exist and continue loving the Edie that I've always loved. This movie is just about someone else!

Who will play Warhol?
 Green Day! Jimmy Fallon! Sienna Miller!

This can't be happening! How utterly disgraceful!

Here's a quote from Bob Dylan. It's from Spin Magazine. I thought it was pretty interesting,
"I never had that much to do with Edie Sedgwick. I've seen where I have had, and read that I have had, but I don't remember Edie that well. I remember she was around, but I know other people who, as far as I know, might have been involved with Edie. Uh, she was a great girl. An exciting girl, very enthusiastic. She was around the Andy Warhol scene, and I drifted in and out of that scene, but then I moved out of the Chelsea Hotel. We, me and my wife, lived in the Chelsea Hotel on the third floor in 1965 or '66, when our first baby was born. We moved out of that hotel maybe a year before Chelsea Girls, and when Chelsea Girls came out, it was all over for the Chelsea Hotel. You might as well have burned it down. The notoriety it had gotten from that movie pretty much destroyed it. I think Edie was in Chelsea Girls. I had lost total touch with her by that time, anyway. It may just have been a time when there was just a lot of stuff happening. Ondine, Steve Paul's Scene, Cheetah. That's when I would have known Edie if I would have known her, and I did know her, but I don't recall any type of relationship. If I did have one, I think I'd remember. "
Thanks for posting this! I think he tries too hard to make people think he had nothing to do with her, it's so obvious that some of his songs are about her. Does anyone else think Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands is about Edie? It always makes me think of her, but it sounds like something he would have written about her after she died, which is weird.

gosh. have to agree with you this movie's gonna suck..
I mean i think sienna will do really good..

but WHY do they have to put this teenie band green day in a movie like that...

I've honestly always thought that those songs by Bob Dylan that are seemingly about Edie are just about a culmination of all the people who knew from that time period. If you read any books about the Factory and Edie, she barely had much to do with Bob Dylan.

Guy Pierce is playing Andy Warhol (I honestly don't see how). Hayden Christiansen is playing 'The Rockstar.' and Green Day will probably be The Velvet Underground (gag). The casting sounds awful, so does the screenwriter. I bet you anything this movie will be purely fictional.

Page Six.com

MARY-Kate Olsen is going back to her roots — acting. We hear the recovering anorexic is in talks to play eccentric Andy Warhol acolyte Bridget Berlin in "Factory Girl" alongside Sienna Miller, who is playing Edie Sedgwick. Our spy giggled: "Mary-Kate will be playing a speed freak. She's skinny enough!" Olsen had been taking acting classes at New York University before ditching the school to spend more time on the West Coast with her man David Katzenberg. (from the Sienna Thread)

Proof that this movie will suck even more (Bridget Berlin was fat, how will that work?)

I also think he's trying to hard to make it seem like he wasn't close with her. Like A Rolling Stone also reminds me loads of Edie. :innocent:

I am so curious about the whole Bob Dylan thing! He never seems to talk much about his privacy with the public, but this issue he has commented on several times. I agree that alot of his songs could easily be about Edie

I agree with you about Bob and Edie's "relationship." I have read many books, and there is no evidence that they were anything more than acquaintances who were in some of the same social circles.
I've also heard that Like A Rolling Stone is about the deceased Brian Jones, who founded the band. I know they were friends, and there are quite a few photos of them together before Brian died in '69. I do think Bob's lyrics are all based on a culmination of people he knew, and not just one person in general.

But the part in Like a Rolling Stone when he says "you used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat, who carried on his shoulder a siamese cat," Andy Warhol had a siamese cat....

Guy Pearce is playing Warhol. It's official, don't worry he is a very good actor, and really hot! He is Australian, I don't think he is that popular in America...

Andy wasn't hot though.
Guy Pierce is very hot. And honestly, I bet Andy would've wanted to be played by a hot actor. He and Sienna are the only good parts of this movie sounds like. Am I the only one who thinks Hayden can't act?

I dont think it's official yet- He's been attached to the project for a while now but it was removed from IMDB when Sienna was added back.

None of Edie's true fans will have to worry about her becoming anything more than a passing fad because of this movie-it'll be in and out of theatres in no time and will flop...maybe it's fate.Edie is a poets girl, not mass appeal,it just will not work and clearly the people making it know it because they are doing their own kinda thing with it not Edies story.Maybe Sienna will have enough of it and drop out soon.

(From Edie group on livejournal)

again, off imdb:

"Don't know if this is true, but the New York Post's Page Six is reporting that Lindsay Lohan will appear in "FACTORY GIRL", playing Andy Warhol scenester Brigid Berlin opposite Sienna Miller's Edie Sedgwick.

The biopic to be directed by George Hickenlooper. The cast also includes Guy Pearce, potraying Andy Warhol. Hayden Christensen in a role based on Bob Dylan and Jimmy Fallon is also on board.

"FACTORY GIRL" is set in 1965, the year Sedgwick met Andy Warhol and become known as his muse.

Now the role of Brigid Berlin is rumoured to be in Mary Kate Olsen's future. But now Lindsay has blown the director away with an audition with both Guy Pearce and Sienna Miller. Mary Kate has been dropped. Brigid Berlin was a big girl so I don't know if Lindsay is going to pack on a few pounds or the character will not be a direct interperation. But will wait and see.

If your heard yesterday Lindsay said her hair will go back to blonde from brown because of a movie in January. This looks to answer that question of which film it is for."

This sounds more and more like a teeny boppers flick
