F/W 06.07 Ad Campaigns

It's getting to a point where a model dosen't even have to be good to get alot of campaigns and runways...she just needs to be with a top agency :ninja:

Hmmm interesting...but doesnt a top agency mean a top model? I know IMG is a big business for marketing and they own A LOT. So i also guess that designers may be more towards them since they have such a big impact on marketing of stars, models, and they also own a technology company too....kinda weird...

Absolutele! With IMG,you just get everything! And that explains why models like tiiu kuik, whos with Major i think and could be as good as any other IMG model, can not make it big. pity...

I really want to see Gisele back to work with dolce&gabbana again, she did amazing job.

True to a point, if you are the girl with the most potential you will get to pick out of the litter of agencies...

If you were offered contracts between at one of the top agencies like DNA, Women or IMG, but then you were offered contracts at an agency like Mc2, which one are you going to pick? Of course the girl with the chocie is going to go to the big agency that has a proven track record..while the other agencies are able to take whatever is left or whoever happened to be lucky to go with..

you right! actyally, DuJuan's frist season in NYC is from Mc2, the second season go to IMG

du juan, i dunno, i dun like her appeal, her face isn't good for the taste of asians at all, i think she is not hot in asia....personally! PERSONALLY! i think china is the next big market for luxurious products, people there are pretty rich and they are so addicted to the western luxe., probably that is the reason dujun was chosen! NO OFFENCE PLZ!

China is THE market of the world right now, couture in china, shows in china, china vogue, this is the year to hit it big in china and du juan is the ambassador raking in the bills regardless of personal taste, du juan will appeal to the majority of luxury buyers since they can now relate to YSL, and LV on a different level, unintentional you will be influenced, pride is a powerful thing!

very well said. :flower:

she doesn't appeal to the Chinese masses period. Even if she does there are FAR better candidates like any famous Asian celebrity or a caucasian classic looking model.

^Perhaps not, but like dizzytacks said, she is the current "ambassador," and the impact she makes, however many, will be a great start to reaching out to the Chinese masses. That's more than her predecessors have done.

My relatives in China are warming up to her, that's for sure ;)

You can have differences, you dont need the same type of "model" or "actress" to appear in every single campaign, it loses its flavour and constitutes a narrow array of options..

Querelle Jansen for DKNY, this will be interesting, and I hope she continues with more :woot:

Natalia Vodianova is doing Calvin Klein Collection again. As expected.

Very true. At the same time, however, I think that some agencies kind of create top models, instead of scouting girls that already look like super stars, where as other agencies couldn't afford to do that. Most of the 'eclectic' looking models wouldn't get so much work if they weren't with agenices that could afford to market them as the next big thing. Am I making any sense...?
