Leave it to Tommy Hilfiger to bring back the American spirit.
For the designer’s new ad campaign, he took models Sessilee Lopez and Shannan Click to D.C. to shoot with Phil Poynter. The group used the National Mall, Lincoln Memorial, and Jefferson Memorial as a backdrop for the photo shoot, which is the second in the series “American Stories.” “This season we wanted to highlight the dynamic energy in Washington, and capture the people who are representing our nation and the real moments in their lives,” said Hilfiger. Appropriate given the nation’s obsession with the Obama family, no?

^That is great news for Sessilee! It seems like this season may be the true breakout season for black models in terms of campaigns?

Looking forward to Sess for TF. Finally a well deserved campaign spot!

is there any news on Hermes? hopefully it will be shot by Camilla again!

^i know that :flower: even though there were conflicting sources in the SS09 thread on the photographer. :)

^You know what, your probably right.
:ermm:

Its probably a stupid publicity stunt to make him look all PC.
Sorry but I think thats a stupid thing to say. Tommy Hilfiger has black models in his campaign all the time, so this has aboslutey nothing to do with a publicity stunt!

^ Just because he has black models in his campaigns "all the time" doesnt mean anything. Everyone knows about Hilfiger and his "comments" and things like that don't just disappear with a few models in a fashion campaign.

^Just because he uses Sessilee now for a campaign doesn't mean he is only doing it for a publicity stunt.

Why else would he use her?? He's made his opinion VERY clear. Why would he go back on his word and cast someone like Sessilee in his campaign? To try and gain back some credibility. How can you not see it? Its so obvious.
