Even if she only had one outfit, Rasa was the only completely new girl to debut as an exclusive to Prada in Milan that season. She had been working with Miuccia all week.

(That and well she wasn't the first pick for the campaign anyway)

A little off topic, but who was originally picked first for that campaign?

It definitly is confusing but I feel Prada has no obligation to models, neither does Karl for Freja but he uses her because he likes her and I feel he is loyal to models (if not obsessive). Most brands don't have an obligation to build a model's career, they can use her for a campaign because she fits and move on when she doesn't. I forgot all about Kate K and Katlin (which I think says everything) however I'm curious if being exclusively related to Prada is damaging to a model...there's been so many Prada casualties but like cologne rocks says it's not neccessarily down to prada but more overhype and poor management. For me a Prada campaign/casting just isn't interesting anymore, if 5-10 girls do it every season it doesn't hold the same prestige as it did when models like Sasha, Elise, Snejana and Daria were in the campaigns years ago.

This is very true and we have to keep in mind that it's neither Steven Meisel's nor Karl Lagerfeld's job to build up a model's career. Let's be honest, how many per cent of the Prada customers care if it's Valerija K or Samantha Gradoville getting the campaign? A very small split. And how many of them stop buying the latest collection's garments if they don't like the model choice? Maybe Bryan Boy starts to cry because of that but who cares for him, anyway. We're not 98 anymore when people cared for models castings, well, to be exact even at that time people did only know a few supers. The high fashion model industry is just a small part of the fashion industry and even a bit irrelevant for the whole entertainment industry. It's the most random thing for majority and does not really influent our buying behaviour (I'm talking about high fashion models). How many of your classmates or colleagues know who Natasha Poly is unless you're working in the fashion industry and even most Prada in-store employees are not able to distinguish an I-D from a Vogue Italia Cover Shot.

As for the campaign/runway exclusive stuff, it's not bad. If you walk exclusive for Prada/Miu Miu you will definitely get some A list inquiries even if you're the plainest thing on earth. But the problem of most girls is their bad-*** timing. If you start to get internationally demanded you have to immediately turn fulltime by that time as long as you are requested cause people want to get to know and to work with that "New Prada Girl". But as dumb as most motheragents especially in Eastern Europe are, their 14yo Prada girl has to enter the airplain right after the Prada show in order to arrive punctually in school for the upcoming exams. While Prada girls like Auguste, Adina, Katlin and Julia are chewing History-books in school, their agents have to cancel the most precious options and bookings - it's obvious that Meisel doesn't call you twice if you're "not available due to school." And not available due to school means for the girls that there will be no development process and thus no new pictures except the one campaign (if you got it...) and creepy tests from your homecountry in your book which makes you unattractive for the casting diretors in the next season and you become last season's buzz. There is a huge offer of substitute.

Revlon Almay - M: Kate Hudson, Info: vogue.it [IAmLordZen]

After Jessica Alba, Halle Berry and Jessica Biel, another Hollywood star becomes an ambassador for Revlon's Almay brand.

Kate Hudson, daughter of Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn, is the new model of beauty for the cosmetics giant, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year.

"She is smart and vivacious. Her energy and verve are contagious. She's the perfect ambassador for the Almay brand," said Revlon's president, Alan T. Ennis.

This is the Californian actress's first experience as an endorser for an international brand. She stated that she totally engages with Revlon's cosmetics philosophy, which is to enhance every woman's natural beauty.

The brand is also very attentive to the needs of women with sensitive skin; Revlon was in fact a pioneer in using hypoallergenic and fragrance-free ingredients.

Looks like Kenzo's new campaign will be the continuation of Spring/Summer ads.

I fint it strange that a major brand like Ralph Lauren almost always uses "unknown" photographers. Does anyone know the reason for that?

I dont know if this was mentioned but this was in Chanel Iman's thread

She got Dsquared2 along with Alla and Iris...they are all wearing a bowl cut ( similar to Chanel Iman on Ice edit from V). Sporting a bold lip....;)

Prada is no career suidide. It's just a sign for how bad Prada casting is, again. If you cast a good girl for a major campaign, she'll do well for like 4-5 years. If you cast a bland girl (like Katlin, Katrin, Kendra or Rasa) she might do well the runway and maybe print season afterwards but will dissapear quite quickly cause she's only being booked due to her current reputation which only lasts 6 months, say until the next campaign with another girl appears. That's called overhype...

I wouldn't call Katrin Thormann bland at all but given how the face of modeling is always changing at light speed, I could see why her work has lessend over the years.. Now the look is more Prada F/W 2003 which is why girls like Julia Nobis is being booked more than Katrin.
