Favourite Movie Scene?

The scene in "In the Mood for Love" when Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung are practicing their goodbye is just devastating.

i really liked the first sequence of the two couples w/ the music swelling. so glamorous

also, i loved the shots when he puts his head in the hole at the end

So many memories in this thread

I just finished watching the Rules of Attraction, i think Dick (Russel Sams) deserves his own movie! I love the scene with Dick, Paul and their mothers at lunch in the hotel.
And when Lauren and Sean meet in the hall and the cameras pan outwards...
And the suicide scene.

God, i love this movie!

sorry im not reading what other people have said but these are mine

fifth element: when mr. zorg gives that speech to the preist "you see life comes from destruction disorder and chaos.." love it

fear and loathing in las vegas: when they check into the hotel
at the begining in the car when they are like
"woah did you just see what god just did."
"god didnt do that. you did it! you're a f***ing narcaotics agent."
and then he pulls out the gun and when the dr. turns back depp's character like fake trys to hit him with the fly swater haha

American Psycho: when he chases the wh*re down the hallway with his chainsaw. takes the time to put socks and shoes on but is still in his whitey tightys haha
and when his lawyer laughs at him
life aquatic: when they discover the jaguar shark at the begining and then the second time omg amazing
pulp fiction: the over dose.. need is say more

i heart huckabee's: Tommy's wife is leaving him and his daughter goes "i dont want the children to work in factorys! stop this from happening! dont let them go blind!"

I love it, too.

ohhh i really like this topic. hmm i have many

the scene in Gilda, where Johnny first sees her in her room, and she tosses her hair back in that sensual fashion

lots of scenes in moulin rouge coz the colors are SO brilliant and vibrant. i guess my favorite is the elephant melody scene where Christian & Satine are standing by the window and there's that burst of color in the shape of a heart around them

actually i do have a favorite scene from the ring 2, its only 'redeeming' quality imo, the scene where samara is climbing up the well...that scene is so creepy, so horrifying (more so than that stupid scene with all the elk) that i dont think i could watch it again w/out having nightmares (i'm pretty sensitive to scary movies)

the scene with jack and rose on the bow of the ship in titanic was beautifully done

the scene where rhett kisses scarlett for the first time in GWTW is hot

*more to come lol*

So cliche, but the ending of Dirty Dancing. I don't know how many times I've pressed Rewind so I could watch the dance over and over and over again.

The Lover -- the girl and the Chinaman started their affair. WHOA! So intense!

Love Actually - Just after Andrew Lincoln's character stands at Keira Knightley's door with the cards telling her he loves her and he walks away but she catches up with him and kisses him. Then he walks away and says something like "enough, enough now."

I Like the scene in Notting Hill when Hugh grant tries to climb the fence.. and falls and says.. "whoopsidaises.." and Julia Robert says.. "what did you just say..."

I also liked the scene when Julia Roberts tries to get Hugh Grant back at the very end.. "I'm just a girl.. standing in front of a boy... asking him to love her..."

I love Notting Hill

Closer- first scene when natalie portman and jude law are walking down the street to "the blowers daughter"
-when

oops sorry

-when Jude Law and Clive Owen are talking online
-Clive Owen meeting natalie Portman in the strip club

a bunch more but i'll post later

Romeo & Juliet: When Claire and Leo are in two different rooms, with the fish tank between them, connecting them. And they're looking at each other, touching the glass in awe, and "Kissing You" plays.

Beetlejuice: When they're sitting at the table, and the mom starts singing "Day O" and then everybody else follows... singing and dancing.

Clueless: At the party in the Valley. The "Suck and Blow" game. ("G--, Elton can't you suck!?")

Down With Love: The scene where Barbara Novack (Renee) and Catcher Block (Ewan) are preparing for their date and "Fly Me to The Moon" plays. Frank Sinatra's version is playing while Ewan's getting ready. Astrud Gilberto's version plays while Renee's getting ready (and swaying across the room). While the scenes switch, both songs are intertwined into one. (If that makes sense).

My faves are from:
13 going on 30, when they´re dancing Thriller!!
Dirty Dancing - the last dance of the movie.
Two weeks notice - when Hugh Grant says : "congratulations for the baby!" and teh woman:"what baby??"... so funny! and when Lucy says: " I think you´re the most selfish human being on the planet!" then he says: "That´s just silly. Did you meet everyone on the planet?
The wedding date - when they´re playing cricket!
Beyond Borders - when Sara dies.
Wimbledon - when Kirsten Dunst appears in the crowd and when they´re running in the afternoon.

2001: A Space Odyssey - The entire 'Blue Danube' sequence

Days of Being Wild - The pan across the Philippines jungle while Anita Mui's classic song and Tony Leung's monologue are heard in the background...eventually cutting to the scene of Tony grooming himself to go out, definitely an all time classic shot in Hong Kong cinema. There were tons of TV ads this past summer that were doing parodies of the grooming scene.

Days of Being Wild (again) - The scene where Leslie Cheung is making Maggie Cheung look at the clock for a minute, then delivering his speech about how they'll forever be friends in that one minute. Brilliant...Leslie Cheung is the James Dean of Hong Kong.

Taxi Driver - Final scene, or basically any scene where that saxophone tune was playing, romantic and brilliant.

In American Beauty, when Ricky describes and dancing plastic bag as we watch his footage of it, and ends the scene when he says 'Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in'.
^Thats one of my favorite scene's too...As well as in the beginning of the movie where Lester is talking about how when you die your life flashes before your eyes.

Love Actually-where Keira Knightley's husband's best friend comes and shows her the card that says "To me, you are perfect" , that was SO sweet!
Garden State-Zach Braff (Large) wakes up and sees this knight walking around and he's just like wtf? haha, and when he goes to the doctor and goes through that machine where they take pictures of your brain (can't remember what it's called right now) and you see all the funny stuff people wrote on him..I could go on, there's SO many great scenes in that movie!! Absolutely hilarious..
Sixteen Candles-Everyone has left the wedding w/o Sam and then she see's Jake and shes like "Me?" and he goes "Yeah, you!" .. and the birthday cake scene, that was cute!..OH and when Jake finds the note that Sam wrote about him..
Bridget Jones Diary-When they kiss in the snow and Bridget all of a sudden realizes shes just wearing panties and Mark wraps his coat around her!
The Wedding Date-Dermot Mulroney taking a shower. He is soo hot in that movie.
