Foreign Movie Recommendations

I watched a couple of weeks ago the Italian film La meglio gioventú and I really love it. I recomend it to everybody.

6 hours of movie (in two parts) and never boring or uninteresting.

That reminds me of The Last Emperor: long (almost four hours), partly produced in Italy by an Italian director (Bertolucci, although the film is in English) and engaging throughout every minute. I should definitely recommend it. :P

Irreversible(sp)
Anything from Almodovar

Italian:
Romanzo Criminale

I need some help. I watched this movie a couple of years ago and can't remember what it was called...It was either Finnish or Danish (I think..or somewhere else in Northern Europe). it is about two friends in a relationship very reminiscent of the old sitcom "The Odd Couple". I think they have to live in a halfway-house sort of thing because they have mental problems...and one of the men's wives has a baby...It's been a while.

Any ideas?

I remember now that the movie was Norweigan. If anyone knows what I am talking about please tell me! This is driving me crazy!

No foreign movie recommendations...but I wanted to recommend some Asian TV dramas, which I have been addicted to for the past two weeks after a long break from them. Really wanted to recommend 2 J-dramas I saw recently: Gokusen and Hana Yori Dango.

They're classics. HYD is the best thing I've seen on television in a loooong time, maybe ever. Only 9 episodes long, so every single episode is amazing beyond belief, especially the last eppy.

a lot of great suggestions have been made already

Just want to add two more right now

C.R.A.Z.Y.
(Québec) You have to see it. You just HAVE to. It's that good!
The Dreamers (France) I watched it last weekend and I was blown away! Bertolucci did a great job ^_^

Ohhh , make it three! I also suggest Histoire de famille (Québec), which is a movie based on the "Révolution tranquille"/Quiet Revolution (see here) ... it's pretty good ^_^
