Gareth Pugh S/S 2015 Paris

^I think the inspiration of this collection is witchcraft from Europe, America and Africa.

"If I only had a brain"..........and yeah, American Horror Story on Steroids.

Gareth is amazing. Am I the only one who thinks this collection deserved a catwalk show? It is just a greatly refined reminiscent of his earlier collections as well as the F/W 2014 collection. Animal headdresses gave me Thom Browne F/W 2014 menswear tbh. I love this.

Amazing... creative, conceptual, yet wearable/unwearable. Definitely stands out from all other collections shown. This collection alone makes me think Pugh would be worthy to do Balenciaga instead of Wang

Wow I love everything! It's conceptual while maintaining commercial appeal. My first thought was AHS as well, but none of it is costume-y. Even the "scarecrow" looks are wearable and desirable.

oh shivers, how elegantly goth and obscure..

pff when in doubt of a potentially generic gown, follow the Viktor and Rolf path and throw a mask on the model for an esoteric spin. I get nothing from his collections and much less from his seasonal and amateur gimmicks to make an impression, he's somewhere past contrivance, I'll give him that.

What a truly, truly fantastic collection! And i feel like this presentation was the perfect platform to showcase it.

I thought I was the only one... :ninja: Sure, there are a few nice pieces scattered thorugh out, but no amount of persuasion could convince me this is a good collection. Not after seeing this. I don't think I'll manage to sleep tonight...

I love this. I usually find him to be a bit contrived but wow this is not only creative, and well executed but wearable and beautiful. well done.

I did think the masks were gimmicky when I first saw it, but I find the witchcraft inspiration very chilling and interesting and I think it's been done in a thoughtful way. Won me over!

Beautiful collection! It's dark, romantic, elegant and best of all, it is somewhat wearable. I couldn't ask for more.

yes true; he is very clear about his pagan inspirations. it doesn't feel goth to me anyhow; it transcends that parochial label.

LOL Oh Mullet, I picture you as Mrs. Krabappel saying that while talking a drag of your cigarette and eyerolling...

It's... nice enough, and very typical fodder for the SHOWStudio gang. But outside of that stern-faced, fashion-as-art barometer pretension, I still get the impression he's still tethered to McQueen's frame of mind. Not that he wouldn't be a good replacement at McQueen: Maybe he would be the stronger successor to the label with Sarah being the logical righthand woman, as she had been with McQueen the man...

Anyway, I'm never really stunned nor inspired by his designs because of the McQueen shadow-- although I do appreciate that he's definitely got the skills, and the showmanship... He's always hit the right notes-- but those notes just don't resonate with me because I've heard (or seen, in this instance) it all before. It's... nice, and doesn't move me beyond that.

Wow, I was not expecting this. It's actually wearable and very beautiful.

I like the nods to FW07

i'm glad that we finally got to see what he is capable of with a decent budget...
it's really not bad...
it's not overwhelmingly brilliant or innovative...
but it definitely doesn't suck...
more costume than fashion...
but, if i think of it in that context, then these are actually GREAT costumes!
makes me think of grace jones...

:innocent:

This is amazing, it's incredible how Gareth has grown up as designer, first of all with all the amazing avant garde shows and now this is actually commercial but you can see the touch of edgy, new and forward. Some of the pieces are very RTW with the right styling. Gareth at this step could be the next McQueen.
