Gaultier SS05 Haute Couture

this collection is so amazing... i love all of it, and how he mixes fantasy with reality and yet it's all still so wearable and modern. definitely his best couture collection in a while.

Accessories

http://***************/image/0126200515263355.jpg tortoise-shell bag

http://***************/image/0126200515261732.jpg ...and nuiko's pumps, once again

http://***************/image/0126200515262530.jpg ...also in clear vinyl with metallic leather

its quite an interesting collection especially the more flamboyant pieces. the more wearable ones remind me of YSL when Tom Ford was still there

does anyone know who the black models are? i ve seen naomi, januel, alek and another one called phine kamara

very interesting! madame schiaparelli would´ve liked the face dresses...

:p ...that's funny because it reminds me of YSL when YSL was still there...
he's famous for his african and tribal inspired pieces and of course later came the safari jacket...

the nipple tassles seem a little weird to me.

FANTASTIC!:crush: this is a great mix of fantasy/practicality/beautiful/gritty...lovely...really, this makes me so happy that something amazing has come out of this Couture week of let-downs:innocent:

Ditto, softie. www.ysl-hautecouture.com has photos of the famous beaded African dress.

P.S.

Don't forget that Gaultier's pointy bra look is a YSL spin-off.

I love everything from the beginning of the show, except for the tortoise-accesoiries....makes me look at my own tortoises with a strange face...I did not like all the African stuff in the second part though, it sometimes really scared me with all those faces in the dresses....Plus la mariée was awfull...

Im not sure what I think of this, there are some interesting ideas but I don't like the overall look. I am not a fan of Gaultier (for mens designs at least) at all.

I love the hair and the fox on one models shoulders, rest is boring

There's a suit from this collection that somehow ressembles Mariacarla's Balenciaga S/S 05 collection, I can also some slight ressemblance btwn Jessica Stam's outfit and an outfit from DKNY's F/W 04 collection, and the rest is so Roberto Cavalli.

I don't like this show at all.
