THAT MAKEUP. Makeup ladies, what is the problem? Does she need a new shade? Something about it is always very funeral-esque. Anyhow, I LOVE her overall look. THIS is the Genevieve we love to see.
Great outfit! It's so fun, and it really suits her, this is what I love seeing her in - a little bit eclectic, a little bit ladylike, some embellishments, etc and most of all fun!
I agree though the makeup is a bit ashy... but it's always is, she's got the sort of face that would glow with the right makeup.
So true about the makeup, in the picture where she's kissing zac you can see where it ends on her neck. She clearly uses a shade of foundation or powder that's too light for her. She should just use a little bit of bonzer to make up skin glow.
i actually have a similar effect with my makeup and its not thats its too light, but under the flash of a camera it always looks weird/powdery/white.
but the shade is actually too dark for me!!
it is just hard for women of color to find their shade. period.
^ i know that, as I am a woman of color
But she should be aware of the flashing lights, it's like the whole bra under the top showing under the flashes you have to be careful. I think it's too light or maybe she should stop using powder. I still think a light simmery bronzer is the way to go, because that's what I use and it makes my skin glow under the camera instead of looking waxy (Genevieve).
Obviously there's nothing wrong if natural features make someone look younger; and if people tell you that for this reason it's a compliment.
Now, what I'm talking about is when one try too hard to look young by wearing a specific type of make up or wearing clothes that a 12 years old child would wear.
you can be older and look beautifully young, or you can be older looking incredible ugly because of the ridiculous effort to look young.
And, it can be hard to find make up for darker complexion but if you know you're dark, for what reason would you put some white powder in your skin?? She's been out long enough to know more about make up. There's so much more lines for darker skinned women for example the one ex-model Iman has.
Each piece, the jacket, the bustier, the high-waisted skirt, the shoes, the jewelries, each piece is stunning separately, yet she does not look overdone when they're put together. Bravo!
Her face makeup does look ashy though, while her natural neck and shoulder skin color look so vibrant and luminous. Too bad. Maybe she should ask Gabrielle Union for foundation tip. lol.
