Givenchy F/W 2019.20 : Ariana Grande by Craig McDean

This is the ultimate proof, beyond how uncohesive her RTW and her Couture are, that she doesn’t have a real vision for Givenchy.
The logo mania has been insane (more than what Riccardo did) and this is the ultimate trick.
And the Audrey reference guys...This is when you clearly have no point of reference.

lol #arivenchy... such a #momjoke

I'm eternally grateful for Ariana getting me to break a sweat many times at the gym, I just.. I don't think she's pretty, or even good-looking..?. Other than superb vocals and a somewhat likable personality, there isn't much happening body/face-wise.. I've always been amazed by the incredible work of the team at her record label, cause they had so little to work with (and it shows with the nearly Jenga-level of calculated image) and somehow... got it to take off and sell millions. If that's not part of the foundation of fashion (where not even the models are pretty and definitely not most of the people working there but it's all about working with what they got and looking like you've been "blessed" by these 2-3 things), then I don't know what is. So Ariana advertising fashion? right up her alley! and fashion's, no biggie.

They probably need that, just like Versace needed xtina, like Hedi needs any celebrity's blond son.. that's what they do, whatever.

Ugh the "Arianators" (or whatever they call themselves) on the post are so childish and annoying picking fights and telling people to just "not buy" if they don't like Ariana. Eyeroll. Exactly why it doesn't make sense that she's the face of the brand. I'd rather have some popular model like Bella Hadid - I've never liked her, but if they wanted someone popular/appealing to a certain demographic but still in line with the Brand's mature image that CWK is projecting then she would've been perfect.

Ariana would’ve been better off with Riccardo Tisci’s street side of Burberry than with CWK’s vision of a woman at Givenchy. At least the former knows how to be down with the kids.

Unlike someone like Rihanna, Ariana is not bold enough to be put in clothes that are complete opposite of her usual style.

It makes no sense and Ariana doesn't fit Clare's Givenchy at all (since she doesn't really have her own style, just that annoying fake ponytail). But I don't think it's Clare's fault that they picked Grande, it's just the PR division that is to blame here. They have no clue what they are doing.

I really hope there will be another campaign by Meisel because really, this one is going to be a disaster and we all know that.

It's not the worst celebrity combo we've seen. Anything is better than stinky Madonna.

More teasers (which I assume are still just teasers, since it states the campaign it set for release tomorrow:(

They are not going to release a campaign full of obscured clothes, are they? If the campaign does indeed look like the teasers, maybe they did come to their senses that Ariana is not a good fit.

While the images are undeniably tragic, I like Ariana and I am happy for her :ninja:

that first teaser they released really shows the "work" she's done to her face...

Wait, this is really the main campaign, I thought it was going to be for a perfume or something! I can't believe someone thought Ariana would be a good fit for that collection, and I also can't believe her team agreed to this. She'd be a much better fit at Balenciaga, for example, wearing some sock boots and a puffer jacket. It's much closer to what she normally wears.

It’s Clare’s fault. She is responsible for everything in the fashion department.
If Ariana was the face of the perfume or beauty, it would have been another story.

This is all her fault. This woman has no vision for Givenchy and is trying her hardest to pull all the cards to please Mr Arnault.

I wouldn’t be surprised to know that they are growing slower than the other brands at LVMH.
