Need to review it more but I like some of the jackets and knit wear as well as the boots which I must have NOW! Some of the bags are great as well... all together a very strong collection with great proportions.
I really like the pants, that's about it. The rest is just the same crappy Eurotrash that Freida loves to churn out ever season. Especially those horrid velvet pieces.
Now this is good I love the devored velvet pieces, the printed trousers, and especially those tapestry bags. I know I'm going to put those on my "to buy list" for next fall. I hope something like this carries over to the womenswear, that would be really impressive.
the finale looks are alright, but nothing is outstanding nor are the pants well cut. Frida has such issues with good pants, i swear, it ain't space science. whats with her insistence on tapered legs?
honestly, this stands as the best outing frida gianini has put out for the house of gucci. for the first time, i find myself actually enjoying -- dare i say, lusting after -- these clothes and cannot trace them back to some tom ford predecessor nor her early collections that. it's very frida and unquestionably gucci, yet it's staking new ground for the menswear. i cannot think of a time when she has employed this level of rich detail -- something of a trend this season, no? -- to a non-commercial end. this is no new witticism involving interlocking g's or some winking spin on the horse buckle. it's actually bold. and it'd take a man -- a man very interested in fashion -- to pull a lot of this off. i can't see the average gucci customer -- at least the ones i know now -- pulling off those pants or those bags or those blazers. i pray she continues in this direction.
