Gucci To Start Couture Line - Gucci Première

Hahahahahahaha, this is a joke right

Right?

Push those extra couture funds in Fachianetti, someone please!

Well its still something to see... I dont really have hopes for this, at all I must say.

But its definitely a very good strategical move for the brand and Im pretty sure this had a deep market research to prove the viability of the project.

O_O

The federation needs to be a more selective about which house can attach couture to its name.

It doesn't look like the Federation has anything to do with this. If it's not shown during couture week, it doesn't have their stamp of approval, but if it's out of the country (Italy) it's out of their jurisdiction. So Gucci can call this 'couture' just as the US has Juicy Couture.

she cant put out a decent RTW show , so how the hell is the byatch going to do HC looool .

as long as it's not been shown in Paris...-_- Otherwise it will be a total disaster!

While I'm not really keen on seeing Frida design Haute Couture I'm still quite looking forward to seeing what she'd cook up. I mean just about anything would be better than the garbage she's making these days.
Plus it's good for the brand. It brings money and reputation.

seriously.
she needs work. i miss her stuff so much. and shes perfectly suited for couture.

Sincerely ... If there is no show, I don't see the point in getting exciting or worried about this. Most of us aren't Couture customers ...

I'm sure Gucci is already doing some private stuff for who is requesting it and have the money and cachet ...

c'mone. no big deal !

Exactly, no show probably means we wont get to see much of it , and A-list celebrities dont even wear Gucci to red carpet :ninja:

tom ford introduced something like this during one of his final years with menswear and bags. not couture but custom order stuff. in the end, there's a market for this stuff as proved by armani prive...

^Agreed. I doubt it's supposed to be "couture" in the traditional Parisian sense (ie: the most complex patterns, techniques, embroideries, etc. that money can buy)..It's simply custom-made pieces that aren't put into everyday production. I'm sure other major design houses that don't show during Paris couture week have something comparable.

But I reckon that it's big-bucks we're talking here, so at that rate, you might as well go to Chanel & be done with it.

it's not a couture dress, it was just a Gucci gown

Are you sure? I read somewhere that her dress was covered with "Tiffanys's gems" didn't say if it was diamonds or not...which collection was it from? or was it made specially for her?

Hahaha. wow I wasn't expecting everybody to quote me...
But I think that Frida is doing a great job at Gucci IMO
So why not give her a chance at Couture???
you guys can b**** and moan about it after you see the collection.

^ I bet I will be one of the most anticipated collections that season. For some to B&M, for others to drool about.
I still hope it goes along the lines of Atelier Versace and I will drool about every single piece. Fridas work isn't always bad, but I'm not sure how she will execute red carped dresses (ones that bring publicity to the house).

Now this be something to see. I would love to hear what Tom Ford thinks of this idea LOL
