Haute Couture S/S 10 Schedule

^Tell me about it! Couture line of Balenciaga and Lanvin is my biggest dream.

It would be amazing - imagine the spectacularly modern pieces he could create!
He could push further boundaries like Cristobal - he's more than capeable.
And surely the Gucci Group wouldn't complain too much to have the prestigious renown of owning a Couture House!
I imagine it'd be expensive though..

We can dream!

^Well some Balenciaga can be super expensive as it is, but it would be interesting to see what Nicolas would do.

I hope Chanel is a bit less tacky than the last couture show, JPG can be hit and miss for me, but I'm most looking forward to Givenchy as always.

I was looking for Lacroix's name in the schedule for a few minutes, and then I realized his last couture collection was earlier this year.

Couture week is going to be a mess this season. Lacroix was usually the collection that excited me the most when the other designers were playing it safe. I hope Gaultier, Givenchy, and Galliano can atleast bring a little bit of excitement because we already know how Chanel and Valentino will probably look like.

Oh, and since Lacroix isn't presenting anymore, I hope Versace steps up soon and start producing an actual show. Their couture collections are just mind boggling and I think it's the perfect time for them to start amazing people again.

Expensive at least I guess, as a single Balenciaga ready-to-wear dress can reach the price of a couture design. Though I'm sure it would be beyond amazing. Maybe some day..

I can't wait to see Gaultier and Givenchy! :woot: I hope they won't disappoint, especially since Gaultier has bit more free time on his hands. ^_^
Chanel, Dior, Versace have become predictable, but still easy on the eyes. Sorbier and Mabille are sometimes interesting too.
Never been a big Lacroix fan, so I don't miss his show. And I'm over Valentino, so I have zero expectations, if they do something amazing - great, if not - I won't care. :innocent:

But Balenciaga HC would be amazing, I mean Ghesquiere already does demi-couture and he's good at it, why not do the real thing? I think they might sell more pieces than Givenchy.
But as far as crack dreams go, Balmain HC would be grand, no? All the sequins and dirty ripped jackets made to measure... :shifty:

My top crack dream at the moment is Thierry Mugler designing again. Ah...

took the words right out of my mouth. Chanel and Dior have become a tad predictable but hey; If I was swimming in cash I would not hesitate for a fitting hahaha I hope GIVENCHY turns out good this upcoming season and JPG as well and of course LACROIX would be sorely missed  and yeah BALENCIAGA as well as LANVIN need HC! ^_^

Oh noo...Arghhhh Dior again on 30 Avenue Montaigne...what a shame...At least i hoped that the Dior HC Show will be at Musee Rodin, but nooot...What a shame!!!I`m so so disappointed right now!And i have really low/bad hopes about this S/S 2010 HC Dior Show.30 Avenue Montaigne arghhh...again,again...

HC for Lanvin would be a nice advertisement, not only the oldest fashion house but oldest haute couture house in existence, and that combined with Alber's talent... Mmm...
But judging from Balenciaga's current prices, their HC pieces would cost more than a private plane or something.

Balenciaga Haute Couture ... that makes me cry. And I would force my way in to see it live.

The Chambre should really start to try harder to attract design houses somehow. I know they already try, but they need to give some type of incentives. In addition to Balenciaga Haute Couture ( ), I would love to see Olivier Theyskens do it because his mind is so whimsical so that's perfect. Pilati certainly could do haute couture with a little more research and Ungaro should remove Lohan and Archs (sorry) and hire someone qualified to do haute couture. I don't know how she works with prints, but Alessandra Facchinetti is AMAZING at haute couture.

Lacroix made couture week for me - the flamboyant display of colour, the sickeningly decadent proportions and embellishments, it was a a less sensible Dior Couture (and Dior Couture ain't sensible).
He introduced me to what I think couture should be - the unashamed display of talent and personality without compromise. Looking at that small list of names, only now I realise how much I shall sincerely miss him.

Though I love Chanel Couture, Lagerfeld believes couture should be extremely high quality ready-to-wear.. and having given up on Galliano completely I'm not expecting a single thing from him this time.

I agree completely. Although I never really liked LaCroix at first (because it seemed too colorful, too mesh, too much, etc). But his couture collections all together made a lot of sense to me, and it really is rare to see a designer do something more extravagant/exciting when everything in couture seems to slowly become more and more quiet.

I'm a devout Dior fan, but I do agree that the couture no longer has the magic that it used to have (in comparison with it's spring/summer 2007 show at least)...

OMG i cant wait for next yr to come..
and we gotta see how MMM's gonna go with this!

Didn't Lacroix get saved? If so, when is he coming back?

At one point he was, but then Dubai's economy crashed, so that didn't work out. Right now, he has another investor, but it only allows him to continue his fragrance licensing business, to the best of my knowledge. :flower:

Can't wait for Chanel Couture:heart: Karl never disappoints me!
+ i'm curious about MMA
