Haute Couture S/S 10 Schedule

What happened to Lacroix? Omg, it is my MUST-SEE show of the season. Im really sad....Thot the whole financial issue was handled....Another season without Lacroix. When is he going to do it again?

No Lacroix... :\ Haute Couture won't ever be the same...
But on the bright side, can't wait to see Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, JPG, and Valentino. :woot:

Omg, definitely!! Balenciaga's gowns are just AMAZING. And maybe, Balmain and Nina Ricci. Im thinking Balmain cuz of all of the works that he had done. Nina Ricci would be good for couture under Olivier. I still dont feel the new guy's first collection. Maybe I need some time to get used to the new vision. What is Olivier's next move? Curious...

^ I loved the music too!

I wish Ghesquire would do couture..

MMM is always fun and gorgeous. His mind is really brilliant and I always enjoy his past collections. The last one was pretty satisfying for a die-hard MMM fan as much as I am. Bring 'em out. lol

OMG i cant wait for next yr to come..
and we gotta see how MMM's gonna go with this!

I just had a thot: besides all these big, legendary fashion houses, what new young designers would u see the potential in doing Couture? To me, maybe Rodarte? Wat do you think? And wats yours?

balenciaga as it is today, is almost like haute couture. (costs as much at least). I would like to see lanvin haute couture and prada couture though...

Prada couture sounds so weird that I cannot even imagine it. For me Miuccia is one of the most ready-to-wear designers ever.

Besides Chanel, Gaultier & Givenchy, I wouldn't mind seeing what the Chanel Jewelry line has to offer. I remember a thread here for Diors Jewelry line, which was absolutely exquisite, but nothing on the Chanel Jewelry.

Come on, come on I need Haute Couture Shows! : ) I can't wait i dieee.

I agree, her taste level and the world of couture seem at very opposite end of the spectrums.

However, I AM curious to see how it would turn out. Prada loves working with paradoxes, I'm sure it'd yield an interesting couture look....

You're all forgetting about Alexander McQueen  He would send tornados into Haute Couture.

I'm excited for Chanel, Givenchy, Armani, and I also have a small hope that we might see something "new" from Dior. I want my couture now!

yeah its weird.

but after all, prada stands for ultra luxury. and I think it would be something interesting, something new and innovative, a step forward for couture?

I don't really think McQueen would do much differently if he were doing couture. His (runway) ready-to-wear already has a lot of custom-order only pieces that definitely have the intricacy of haute couture, and if he moved all of those to a different collection, his ready-to-wear shows would get awfully short--and boring.

OMG, that is soooo true. How could I forget? I feel like FW 09 show almost qualifies as a couture show. It was soooo beautiful!! McQueen couture...plz consider!!

I agree with this completely.

well, wat if he keeps his vision for RTW the way it is and add a couture show on top? Wouldnt that be AMAZING? But is it even possible to do so cuz it seems really really stressful...watever happens, lets see and wait. lol

I for one have more faith in Mr. McQueen. I think he has the talent to go even further into the depths of the universe to create something even more frightening and lunatic than his RTW shows for Haute Couture. Perhaps Im overestimating him?

^I do think McQueen could go more extreme and it'd be cool to see expand into haute couture.

I am so excited to see what Givenchy whips up this year. Also interested to see what MMM's gonna show, even if its only a showroom presentation.
