Haute Couture S/S 10 Schedule

:o
On Tuesday, Karl Lagerfeld and his usual beauties will shock le tout Paris by eschewing the Grand Palais in favor of Pavillon Cambon-Capucines on Rue Cambon. Two shows will be held at noon and 2:00 p.m.

Oh. A part of me is going to miss the fabulous Grand Palais but the other one says it could be an exciting change, though :stuart:

Perhaps he's decided he wanted something fresh and new? But I'll be missing the Grand Palais...

Isn't that where the s/s 09 couture show was held? I much prefer the Grand Palais:doh:

Fear not- they'll be back at the Big Venue for Ready to Wear in February, I'm sure... ^_^

lavinray, Thnx for posting the schedules in here, just posted it 2 days ago in Spring Summer 2010!!!

Great!

I am only really looking forward to Givenchy, Gaultier and maybe Chanel. It sucks that Dior shows at the Maison...seriously, it's not of this day and age I think. Last season was a very unimpressing show. I really really want a big runway with deafening music again, but whatever I don't care anymore.

I would DIE if Alessandra or Olivier would do couture (again)....they are some of the greatest dreamers in fashion

i was gonna say yay for chanel changing the venue but then i look at ss09 couture again..:ninja:

Ten days seems like a long time....:( Maybe the Golden Globes on Sunday will give us a break in our waiting... ^_^

This is the Chanel Power, don't exist a crisis in the perfect world of Chanel, i love this so much.:D

:buzz: Im so excited! But Im gonna be in DisneyLand during Couture week, I hope I have enough time

Hmm, Chanel at that sucky setting. Part of the reason I follow Chanel HC is because of those amazing settings, think of S/S 07, and now with this location... *sigh*

I never thought Lacroix's departure would affect the week but now I realise it kinda does. I miss the magic... :(

A little over a week left! Dior Couture debuts the day I have Fashion Illustration :D Though I'm still a bit put off at Dior's location, I really hope they kick it up a notch and make the Dior Atelier's atmosphere different (and hopefully more dramatic)...

I don't really think McQueen would do much differently if he were doing couture. His (runway) ready-to-wear already has a lot of custom-order only pieces that definitely have the intricacy of haute couture, and if he moved all of those to a different collection, his ready-to-wear shows would get awfully short--and boring.

I agree, McQueen is one of the few designers that already blur the line between ready-to-wear and couture (which is, what I'd say, is his signature appeal). He could've easily progressed into couture from his stay at Givenchy, but he seems to be much better off doing his own thing and not being (directly) intertwined with the couture world

yeah its weird.

but after all, prada stands for ultra luxury. and I think it would be something interesting, something new and innovative, a step forward for couture?

I can only imagine! I can see Miuccia create an 'Anti-Couture' line :P
