Hedi Slimane - Photographer

ohhh This cover looks great! I usually say that about Hedi's work, but it really is! Like surrealseven said, the Hommes Japan is a little bit, but I don't think it ruins the focus of the picture, I think Ash has been very well positioned; it manages to be a balanced picture. Thankyou MMA for posting! :flower:

Everyone loves to speculate what Hedi Slimane's up to and whether he'll return to fashion, and everyone includes us:

We just heard that Hedi has officially been picked up by Art + Commerce, the now IMG-owned powerhouse agency that took some baby steps into the fashion world this fall by starting their own casting division.
They're representing him as a photographer, Hedi's current career of choice, which he's done without representation - until now.
So does this mean he's officially a shutterbug rather than designer? Sadly, it looks that way, though we bet we'll still see his name in Vogue Paris.

^^^ Thanks! I love his skater shots.

Yeah I don't think Slimane being picked up by art+commerce will do much for him, other than more money and access to more clientele.

I can't see him working for any of the mainstream fashion magazines anyway (apart from Vogue Paris).

Though I think it would be interesting if he did something for Vogue Italia! :woot:

Self portrait by Hedi Slimane. Photo courtesy of Art And Commerce

Whether he is shooting for Vogue Paris or curating an exhibition for Amsterdam’s FOAM Museum, Hedi Slimane approaches each task with a singular vision. His signature style is iconic - as evidenced by this exclusive self portrait. It is this overarching aesthetic sensibility that makes Slimane’s work so captivating- regardless of the medium he chooses to express himself.
In the years following his tenure at Dior Homme, Slimane’s distinctive, unembellished style of photography has been featured everywhere from Vogue Paris to Vanity Fair. Whether he is documenting the controlled chaos of a Libertines concert or crafting an image of fashionable serenity the Slimane style leaves an indelible mark. As the latest addition to Art + Commerce’s illustrious talent roster Slimane continues to make his presence in fashion felt. This combination of visionary artist and enterprising agency represents the perfect marriage of talent and management.

^ that is a great photo.
I love his work so much in the photography world and his designs. He makes me wish I was a boy sometimes. I think that some of his more still life for lack of a better word are amazing like the close ups of wallpaper and top hats and other things. Although I love his people.

Love his self-portrait, and congrats to him on beeing represented by Art + Commerce, doesn't get much better :D

I wish he would work more with other magazines. He is too genius to be confined to Vogue Hommes and Vogue Paris!

I can see his aesthetic working for W Magazine.

I've also heard he might be collaborating with Katie Grand for her new magazine, slated to appear next March!! :woot:

I love Heidi; he still has a lot to learn as far as photography but I only see greatness from him
