Apropos of this - we are launching an online magazine (with a sorta unique twist) next month and looking for contributors/moderators in the fashion, design, celeb, photography, and modeling subject areas. It's not paid, but a fun community, good experience & exposure. Drop me a note / IM via this site or: support -at- blinkmag dot com.

zigzag - i moved your post into this thread in careers and education, where it is more appropriate.

Hello,

I am involved in the launch of a pretty "major" fashion website--can't say much at this point except that we expect it to be a big deal. Nothing amateur (I'm not talking about the blog in my signature!).

Anyhow, I am looking for someone (or several individuals) who work in fashion to interview, anonymously if need be, about fashion forecasts--colors, trends, etc. You don't have to be involved in creating the forecasts--I'm just looking for anyone who understands what they consist of, how they are used...preferably someone with knowledge of various forecasts/forecasting firms.

Thanks!

internships galore...

nylon: Join the team of creative, talented, and extraordinary people who gain invaluable experience that jumpstarts careers. If you're interested in applying, email us at [email protected]. Please include your resume, area of interest, the quarter you are looking to intern, and your weekly availability. We will start considering interns for the Summer 2007 quarter in late April.

teen vogue: It's hard work," says current intern Paula, "but everyone still has a good time!" Two up-and-comers will get a chance to join in the fun this summer by winning a series of challenges on TeenVogue.com. Log back on March 13 for your first task. You'll have one month to finish it, then you'll need to return to our Web site on April 16 to receive, complete, and submit your second assignment. We'll fly two winners to our New York office in July: One college student will intern with us for three weeks, while an additional winner will spend a day at Teen Vogue, plus an all-expenses-paid weekend in New York City. Don't miss this opportunity to break into the industry. We're waiting for you!

paper magazine: The editorial internship allows you to improve your fact checking, copy editing, and research skills while learning directly from our editors. The general internship program is more of a broad overview into magazine publishing. It allows you to work in the advertising, marketing, promotions, fashion and administrative departments.

The internship requires a minimum of 15 hours per week and usually that can be completed over the course of two days, Monday through Friday. The internship is unpaid and if you would like to receive academic credit for it, that is allowed, although we do not require it on our end. The internship also lasts a minimum of 3 months. To apply, please send your cover letter and resume (plus three writing samples if you are applying for the editorial internship) to [email protected]

art + commerce: Art + Commerce Inc. is currently seeking students to participate in our internship program three to five days a week.

Art + Commerce is a premiere artists representation organization specializing in commercial photography. Our clientele includes, but is not limited to: advertising agencies, graphic design companies, music companies, clothing designers, and fashion magazines. Art + Commerce offers a student great exposure to the inner workings of the business of commercial photography.

The intern position requires basic knowledge of Macintosh, some writing skills, an interest in learning about the commercial photography industry and good phone skills. We would prefer an individual to be self motivated, proactive and intelligent in their approach to the working environment.

There is a $20 per day stipend offered and school credit. Please submit resume by email [email protected] or fax 212 463 7267.

surface magazine is also looking for interns...

Looking for: Model scouts and casting directors

Hi!

I'm the editor in chief of Swedish fashion magazine Modette, which is not yet launched - issue no 1 is out April 12th. Among our contributors are Susie Bubble, which I guess all of you know! :D

For an upcoming issue we're looking for professional model scouts and casting directors, to give our readers an insight to the modelling business and also to talk a bit about the most promising new models out there.

And of course I hope to find these professionals here on TFS! Or at least get some tips on who we should contact.

I'll happily tell you more about the article and Modette, just send me a private message and I'll explain all about it.

I hope no one is offended by me trying to find interview subjects here, if you do (or if I'm breaking some kind of rule here in the forum), please let me know.

All the best!

Maria
