any fashion editorial openings?

i've had a lot of experience doing various things within the fashion editorial side of things... i've interned at a few magazines and am currently a fashion editorial assistant for a small independant fashion magazine, i do mainly market research and market requests but i've assisted stylists before on shoots and done a lot of different things.
i was wondering if anyone's heard anything through the grape vine or if anyone here is looking for a new fashion editorial assistant or starting position at a fashion magazine or even anyone needing a new stylist assistant, i would love to do some more work in that line.
it's time to spread my wings even further and find a new job, i'm trying to climb the ladder...
sort of off tangent but, how exactly do you become a wardrobe assistant for motion pictures/television? that is something i have always been highly interested in but never knew how to break into!
thank you in advance!!! ;)

Ummm...are all of the posts in this thread based in NYC unless otherwise noted?

No ... its not. It's just that so much fashion happens in NY so there are more opportunities there than any other US city. And I don't think we have as many European members as those in the states ... so naturally, they post more US and NY ops.

i live and work in Lima Peru,we are a duo that does art direction and fashion styling.we want to expand our work so if anyone outthere is interested to see a sample of our work, pls let me know....regards

kimair- thank you for posting all of these wonderful oppurtunities for interns! I just hope similar offers will be available next summer ^_^

Contacting photographers for assisting?

Hi everybody,
I recently moved to New York from the midwest and am interested in assisting fashion photographers. This is probably a dumb question, but how do I contact a photographer if they only have a rep listed on their website for a contact? Is it alright to contact their rep about assisting, or is there another way to go about it? Most of the people I'm looking at are pretty big names and probably a long shot, but I thought I would give it a try. Thanks in advance for any help.

Google them and see if they have an independent site where they might have direct contact information. And try to get a phone number ... white and yellow pages of the phone book, perhaps? I won't hurt to contact the rep ... the worst thing that would happen is they won't help you.

Looking for stylist and MUA in Paris, 21-23 Apr

Heya, all

I am a Milan-based fashion photographer and I will be in Paris between the 20th and the 24th of April, I am going there for a couple of appointments with two of the biggest mags (and I am really nervous about this), but that's on the first day only, so I thought about doing a shoot after that, since I am in Paris anyway. Unfortunately, my trusted stylist/MUA that I always work with can't come with me, so now I am looking for a stylist and a MUA in Paris. So, volunteers, one step ahead! If we have enough time we can do a couple of shootings, if you know the city well and the locations and stuff. I don't know yet who the model is going to be, but they are going to send me one from Karine. I speak English, Italian, Russian, Bulgarian and some French and Spanish, so communication is not a problem.
When it's done, I will do my best do get it published in some of the mags that I work with, and I will probably succeed :-)

Any fashion-inclined web designers/developers/programmers out there?

I need to find one or more of you for one or more jobs. I know several people developing websites in this area...one of which is a definite go (lots of exposure for the chosen individual/team for that particular site).

Contact me by PM if you have both a sense for aesthetics AND the ability to build a fairly complex site (preferably standards based). I will supply details when you contact me. You should be willing to sign (electronically, if need be) a non-disclosure agreement for the (or each) site you work on. (And no, we're not talking about my blog or anything of the sort!)

PS - If you think web 2.0 is fugly, your chances of being hired are great.

i love your stuff, an if i could find a way over to paris, i would DEF be your voulenteer stylist :D

LA-area opportunities?

Anyone here searching for a bright, energetic and motivated intern or entry-level employee? I am a senior at a prestigious university in Los Angeles, and will graduate with a degree in Management in Dec. I also have an AA degree in Fashion Merchandising & Marketing and have worked as a fashion publicst for three years. I have also worked in advertising and marketing at an international niche magazine, and in fashion show production.

I am looking for an internship or entry-level position in the fashion industry in LA. I also want to network with anyone on this site who might be in the LA fashion scene, so please don't hesitate to contact me. Recently, I have fallen out of the loop so I could focus on finishing school (finally!). But I am now ready to get back out there.

thanks so much!

how nice of you to post this:flower:
