'Help Wanted' - Post Unpaid Internships & Other Unpaid Opps (NO COMMENTS, PLEASE!)

I'm a fashion/advertising photographer interested in working in Tokyo or Hong Kong for a while. Is there anyone in TFS from either of these cities? Any advice on how I can secure a few assignments there?

The fashion department at W magazine seeks highly-motivated, responsible, savvy interns for the FALL 2007 semester. This is an UNPAID position in which you must receive college credit. Full-time (4 days a week) and part-time (minimum of 2 full days) needed. You will be based in the fashion closet, working with the closet fashion assistant and editors/stylists on managing the ebb and flow of clothing samples. Other responsibilities include scanning/computer work, photocopying, filing and other intern-ly duties. This is a very intense internship in which you must always be on toes, and often work long hours (10 AM-8 PM onward). BUT you will be working beside some of the world's most acclaimed fashion stylists (Alex White, Camilla Nickerson) and directly with major fashion houses/PR firms. Also, many of our interns have found themselves assisting on major fashion shoots. We will be conducting interviews in the coming weeks. Please send cover letters & resumes to [email protected]. Seventeen is currently looking for an intern for the fall semester to work in the features department. The internship must be for school credit and those interested should be able to work 2 full days per week. Primary duties include researching, gathering quotes for the magazine, pitching story ideas, and answering reader mail. Although it may get intense and rigorous at times, the opportunity and experience will be amazing. Harper's Bazaar is looking for 2 student interns to work in the art department. This is a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience in a fast-paced and exciting fashion magazine. Duties include updating our mini board and our book, organizing art work flow and possibly designing 1-2 pages for the magazine. We are looking for people who can work 2-3 days a week (half days may be possible). You must also be able to receive college credit. Some experience in graphic design would be ideal. Details magazine is still looking for fall-semester interns for the EDITORIAL department. Starting ASAP and lasting through December, the internship is unpaid and the intern MUST receive college credit. We're looking for interns who can spend 2.5+ days per week at our office (10AM - 6PM) in New York. I am 23 and looking for an entry level position in either design or fashion magazines.

~Winner of AATCC's product design and development national contest judge by Macy's, Cotton Inc., Target, and others (2007)

~Interned full time (40+/hours week) at Harper's Bazaar in fashion dept. in 2004 for six months

~Was featured in Elle Girl in 2004 for a bag I designed for self started business

~Currently finishing an internship as a buyer, just returned from Coterie in NYC doing buying for spring.

I'm a very hard worker and passionate about this field. I live in Ohio and am excited and willing to relocate as soon as possible!

We are looking for someone who is extremely organized, motivated, and loves clothing. You will be around clothes all day long so you must have a strong interest in it. Duties include checking in samples, returning samples, answering phones, emails, packing and assisting the fashion director as well as the assistant fashion editor at photo shoots. We are a small staff so you will have the opportunity to work with all our editors and gain inside knowledge of how the industry works. The internship will start in January - April. Our ideal candidates and who we consider first are the ones who can be here more time. We would love if you can be here Monday-Friday from 10am - 6pm. However, we do understand that sometimes students go to school and intern or work at the same time, but the minimum days you must be here is 3 days a week from 10-6. This is so you can gain the most out of the internship. The more days you are here, the better chances you will go on more photo shoots.
