'Wanted' - Networking and Opportunites for TFS Industry Professionals

TheFashionSpot.com will be doing extensive coverage of New York Fashion Week this September. We will have a dedicated section, specifically for our coverage, that will include video, exclusive editorial with backstage and front row access, exclusive photo galleries and more.

As part of the editorial we’d like to do a photo section, with commentary by a panel of stylists, designers, and other industry insiders. They would be sharing their opinions on either the designer collections and/or what people are wearing to the shows.

Are you interested in being an ‘expert’? This will all be done via email and it will be a lot of fun.

This will also give you some great publicity, since The Fashion Spot gets over 12 million page views per month and has a loyal, exclusive community of fashion aficionados.
To be involved we need to confirm your participation by August 15th. If interested please contact:

Fashion PR/Celeb Events Internship

From fashion.net...

Are you self-motivated, enthusiastic, eager and extremely dedicated?

Then you are the intern for us.

Parish PR is a boutique fashion pr firm based in Park Slope, Brooklyn. In addition to our fashion clients, we work on a select group of events each year, including major film premieres in NYC. In this position, you will learn about all facets of fashion PR, media outreach and event production.
The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in fashion and celebrities. Must have great writing skills and be really enthusiastic. You should be media savvy (magazines, TV, newspapers, internet/blogs) and have a true interest in pr. This is an excellent opportunity for the person who wants to get their foot in the door and learn the ropes of fashion pr & the event industry.

We are looking for someone who is creative and ambitious and someone who can think outside of the box. This person must be reliable and responsible. You'll attend photo shoots, coordinate interviews, pitch national and international media, write press releases, execute mailings and update the press book. Another big thing you’ll do each day is managing press samples, which will include choosing samples to go to fashion magazines for photo shoots and monitoring inventory.

We are not a typical NY fashion PR firm - we work as a team, we have a lovely office environment and it’s important that we maintain that. We are looking for a genuine person who will work hard, show up on time, and not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

We are looking for two interns that can split the job and cover the whole week. Hours are: Mon-Thur 10:00am-5:00pm and Friday 10:00am– 3:00pm.

This is an unpaid internship.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Answering phones

• Research and database maintenance

• Developing creative ideas and strategies for our clients

• Office management – ordering supplies etc.

• Coordinating press mailings

• Running office errands

If you are interested, please send an email to [email protected] with a short paragraph on why you think you would be the perfect candidate for this position along with your contact information. DO NOT attach a resume.
Thank you!

Halston and Nylon from fashionista.com

Halston needs interns and Fashion Week is practically next week, so if you think you're organized/responsible/blah blah blah, we suggest you snap this up right away.

They're looking for both PR and Showroom interns, so:

PR interns, You can expect:
-Helping with marketing strategies for increased brand exposure on a national and international basis.
-Working creatively with the PR & Marketing team to organize and execute events (read: Fashion Week.)
-Interacting with editors and stylists on a daily basis, helping to maximize their editorial coverage and celebrity outreach opportunities.

PR interns must get college credit (so no cash), and work 2 or more full days per week (9am - 6pm), though they're looking for full-time interns as well.

Showroom interns, You can expect:
-Answering office phone
-Greeting guests, tending to guest needs (read: get coffee, do coats, etc.)
-Keeping up the showroom and samples
-Assisting with Fashion Week and market appointment needs

Showroom internships are also unpaid, though they need someone 5 days per week, either full time (8am - 7pm), or part time (8am to 2pm or 2pm to 7pm).

We know this sounds like a lot for no cash, but maybe you'll get a couple dresses to add to the invaluable experience you'll get for both your life and your resume?

Contact Lisa Bryne at [email protected]

NYLON needs interns in the fashion closet, starting pretty much now and ending after the Fall semester.

You already know the drill by now, but just in case:

You should be smart, obsessed with fashion (in a calm, non-stalker way), motivated, patient, selfless, and able to lift Prada and Westwood bags with a single swoop.

You should not be convinced that you are the next Cory Kennedy, the next Lauren Conrad, or the next Christian Siriano. If you truly believe you're the next Christian Louboutin, that would be okay.

This internship is only open to people in New York (sorry!) and only open to those who can work 2-3 full days a week.

I know that's rough, but if you can make it work, and want to be a closet babe, email Molly at [email protected] with a BRIEF description of why you can make her life easier.

Also, okay, I need one more intern for Fall, so if you want to be put through writing boot camp (as Britt can attest), you can email me too.

Miss you guys.

xoxo Faran
