High Waisted Jeans #1

I hate them.

They don't elongate legs, i theory they should, but in practise - no.

They look frumpy, even if they are in fashion or whatever, and they make bums look flat

I've been looking for a pair of high waisted jeans, but I can't find anything that works well with my measurements.

I have a 25 inch waist and 36 inch hips- has anyone with similar shape found anything that works well? I've found that either the waist is too loose, or the hips are impossible to get into. Hah..! I'm looking for something that's really fitted up top.

LE CHATEAU has high waisted jeans , subtle 21-22 inch straight wide leg . You need thick denim . Lots of the high waisted jeans now are being cut in thin denim which isnt good because it causes crease lines in the front. Just have to look but word of advice to people out there , GO FOR THICK DENIM WHEN DOING HIGH WAISTS. SIZE UP ONE!

Not really , if the pockets are placed properly it doesnt . Contrary to having a sagging *** you can have one which is like a peach.

in the early 70s , low rise jeans were THE sh*t ,but come 1974 , high rise jeans came , people were indignant then throughout the decade and the 80s , high waists reigned supreme. Im not saying stop wearing low rise but at least make an effort to go for a mid rise at least its more flattering.

Timber, I bought a pair of Levi's high-waisted trouser jeans. I have the same problem as you. I would just say find some that fit really well through the hips and you can always go to the tailor and get a dart put in the waist.

Which ones have you tried (for comparison)? What sort of thing are you looking for as far as the leg and rise go... or are you looking for anything/everything?

I am not a curvy lady... but I often have the loose-waist problem... in my experience the worst jeans for it were always Levi's, the were way too loose in the waist when they fit properly in the thigh and hip... I've never even tried their high waists, but I would imagine that the higher, the baggier as far as waists like that go....
I think a seemingly endless stream of ill-fitting Levi's turned me into a denim-consuming monster... welcoming every new thing with open arms (and empty wallet )... oh well, it's how I eventually ended up here at tFS in this thread... :)

for timber

since your in canada , you have some good options.

costa blanca sells these kate moss knock off jeans for 40 bucks and the shade is very flattering

http://www.costablanca.ca/cb/details.asp?product_ID=644&category=8&secondary=0ing. My cousin in toronto has these. They have a regular 9.5 inch rise but are very flattering with platforms or retro sports shoes , dont pair these with pointy toes it takes away from non chalantness about these jeans. Pair these jeans with a brown belt , a tank top and a leather bomber jacket , its a look thats hard to beat .

Im really tall and curvy, 6 ft with 39 inch hip. Do you think that this style would work on me? I dont really want longer looking legs, just a lean look in general. Any suggestions as to what brands work on taller girls?

hmm

well...high waist jeans will give a long look, esp rise >9 inches. If you dont want that long lean look stick to lowrise jeans as they cut the proportions in half. The point of high waist jeans is to give you that elongated lean line ,so you appear slimmer and taller.

Well, dont get me wrong, I certainly want to look lean. I just dont want to look so long legged that it looks wrong...you know what i mean?
Ive never really been comfortable in low rise jeans as they are often too low for me and solicit comments such as "crack kills!" from friends and randoms alike... so I was really happy when this trend made it too the affordable denim market. I just need some guidance as to what would work better for a taller frame??

well since you are tall you dont need heels for the inseams out there . Check out costa blanca , le chateau , mendocino(very pricey) ,aritizia (more pricey). I think costa blanca and le chateau have more affordable and thicker denim which I like. I was there a week back so I know. I saw these high rise jeans at le chateau which were quite nice , had a decent trouser leg. . I liked the Kate moss type jean at costa blanca best , I posted the photo link. hope that helps. tell me how it goes.

since you have hips dont go for skinnies , they will make them look ginormous . A wide leg will balance the hips out.

i've been keeping an eye out for good high rise jeans, it's hard to find a good pair... good tips on here though, i'll have to check some of those places out.

if / when high rise jeans get really trendy i think it's going to be hard for the general population to adapt, like when low-rise started you got *** cracks and muffin tops (still do actually)... i hope people dont ever interpret this trend as a come back for mom jeans… *shudder* you know some people will though... ha ha

Something seems off about the back pockets.
What about them are you unsure about?

I think they look great, ladystardust.. You're lucky to have them baggy on you and still have them look ok! haha

Thanks haute femme.
unipine, it's the back I'm not sure of. I don't have much of a butt to begin with, so I don't know...

I don't like the back pockets.. everything else looks great..
