High Waisted Jeans #1

I'm 5'2... and I don't really think high-waisted jeans work on me unforunately. :([/quote

actually ....they are perfect for petite girls (not too petite) , see rachel bilson rock the ginger jeans ...they have a moderate 9.5 inch rise , decent 22 inch flare , so you get that long model line , my cuz bought the jean after seeing Rbil , she is 5'3 . Just go for a mid rise (9-10 rise ) and wear a little heel or more....The muse jean by joes jeans is another good example.

i want to buy some but its really hard to find some that fit me because my hips are rather large compared to my tiny waist..

go for a wider leg , of a thin flow material , dont go for thick denim or high waist skinnies , they will make your hips look ginormous , speaking from experience. Jbrand Malik Jeans , I dont know of any loose fit jean in the thigh area in the UK , since most jeans sold there are all very tight fitting . I suggest jbrand maliks , in dark wash.

^^ive got no problem with finding the right size...the problem is that when it fits on the hips, its all wide on the waist...

I've seen wide leg jeans worn with open toe wedges for summer...but what do you wear with them with for fall/winter?

i think they look great!!!!!!! i love that big black belt you're wearing them with! :buzz: fricken awesome! there's no way i could pull off those skinny high rise ones...my hips are WAY TOOOOOO big:doh:

I'm not a fan of them

they look like mom jeans
and I HATE mom jeans

i think there's a definate difference between the liz clairborn mom jeans and the chic jane birkin 1970's high waisted jeans. ( i mean besides the point that the cool *** high rise 70's rock jeans came first!)

the washes and the pocket placement as well as the fit are all determining factors on what differenciates between these. plus mom jeans are way baggy in the hip...tight in the waist, generally light wash and very tapered at the ankle. moreso reminiscent to harem pants in denim than 1970's high rise jeans...

the jeans we're going nuts over are very jane birkin french chic dark wash and tight/fitted high rise. very high fashion. there IS a major difference

I have to say you're right
but I only like the tight ones

I like the 70s style jeans a lot , because it looks sophisticated and is more flattering , the high waist drainpipes , are very tricky to pull off for one ,and either than a rock concert or doing street fashion you cant wear them anywhere else I think a mid rise 70s style trouser jean with a 9-10 inch rise is very versatile , you can wear it to work , school , and throw on a sequin beanie and a black tank top and your ready for the clubs. Another thing im so over skinny jeans , I was excited about the trend but its been soooo overdone so fast and spawned a million EMO and hipster wannabes , I just wanted to move on to something /someone who represented the anti thesis of that , jane birkin and farah fawcett.
